Soft top manufacturer in Victoria??
Any thoughts on who would make the best canvas or vinyl soft top for my cobra.
I have the stainless hood bows all set up but I am now looking for someone to make the top and side curtains.
Had someone ready to do it but he went on holiday.
Considering an MGB style with central rear window and two side windows in back.
Cheers

Blackmans (in Richmond I think) They have done heaps and are good. (not cheap though).
Talk to Graeham Townsend or Terry Ridley, They both had soft tops made not long ago, and they both look good.
Soft tops that is, not Terry and G.

Thanks for the feedback Jason,
I havn't seen many of the club cars with tops. Weathers been so good.
I will talk with Terry as I think he has the same hood bows as I.
Have you heard any costings ? How expensive are Blackman's and what extra do I get for the money. I know they do some great concourse work but....
Cheers

Thanks Jason,
Will talk more about this on the weekend.
Know you are doing 12 hour nights but will you venture down and snooze on the grass under a tree?
Or are you going to do the Sunday deli run in South melbourne?
Cheers
Bernie

Jason,
Is hard but the 6 hours sleep you have at work will keep you up to the pace.
Seriously may see you.
Todd and I may go to the deli on Sunday after being at the Speedtrials Saturday.
Todd did suggest we drive down to the ferry on Sunday to see who is coming over. Will chase up to find what ferry they are on and when it arrives - time..
Cheers
Bernie

Hi Bernie,
Ian Johnson has bowed to her who must be obeyed and has cancelled. Graeme Townsend, Rob Hamilton and I are catching the 8 am ferry, probably arrives around 8.40 at Queenscliffe. Graeme is prone to sea sickness but we will drag him on.
I assume the event will only be held if it is dry, we will be there unless the weather is absolutely pissing down and forecast to be like that all day. Forecast looks OK at this stage.

Back on the topic, soft tops.
I had my car trimmed by Garry Blackman, his work is the best, but there is always a waiting list.
Steve Gilham just had a soft top made by Chris O'Shea, ex employee of Garry Blackman, based in Moorabbin. ph 9555 0002.
I had him modify my side certains did a great job in double quick time, pricew was very reasonable.

Thanks Pete for the advice re. the trimmer. I have written the number down and will chase him up when next over.
I plan on having a T /cover plus a soft top. Will get them made and fitted prior to painting the Cobra. Considering the cloth rather than the vinyl.
Will possibly see you at the ferry in Queenscliffe on Sunday and drive back into Geelong. May go onto the deli if you guys think there will be anyone there.
Saturday (tomorrow) looks like a morning of repairs to exhuast then down to the Speedtrials for a look
Cheers

Bernie,
Haven't met you yet but sure I will in the future.
Check your email I have sent some photo's of my cobra (with new soft top) the day I got back from Chris O'Shea Motor Trimming. Excellent job and reasonably priced!!!. More details in email on price and Supertrim where Graeme Townsend got his roof done (Another excellent roof!!!)
Gary blackman definately has a lot of experience though I did find his waiting list long and his manner a little difficult (Pehaps that's OK as he is regarded one of the best).
Let me know what you think.
Regards
Tony Cram

Thanks Tony
Got the email today and may see you tomorrow at Cobra Show Day.
The roof looks good. Think I will split the rear window up like an MGB top.
Looks tight and fits well (Wish I could say the same about.... )
Thanks again for the photos and the pricing. I responded on email also.
Cheers
Bernie
