Default Australian Cobras and Other American Cars

I wanna ask about the American Cars in Australia. I live in Turkiye , I heard there are many turks in Melbourne. After I finish my university I'm thinking of working and living in Australia but as an American-car-maniac, I care much about the American cars in Australia. What kind of classic american cars can be found easily over there?

Plenty of American cars down here. lot's of american cars were sold new through australian dealers in the 50's and 60's you can find a few original right hand drive Chevy impalas, Pontiac parisiens and Ford galaxies that were sold new here. There is a thriving industry bringing in american muscle cars and the like and converting them to right hand drive. You can find pretty much anything here exept the rare muscle cars. Plenty of 60's Mustangs and Corvettes etc.

You should also have a look int some of the Aussie muscle cars from the 60's and 70's. There were some awesome cars built by Ford, GM and Chryslers Australian factories. Even today we have some very tough cars being built here. The Holden Monaro (GM) is being exported to the US as a replacement for the Camaro/Firebird and is called the Pontiac GTO over there. It has pretty much the same engine as the Z06 Corevette.

Check out the Top Gear review of the GTO: Top Gear GTO test Right click and download (it's an 11 Meg file)

(edit: looks like the link doesn't work any more, sorry)

Cheers
