USA - GT40 rep to visit Vic. meetiing
"Hey mate" he says.
Hersh is in town and heading to our meeting.
Talked with Robert Logan Roarin 40's GT40 owner and Hersh today and they are keen to have a GT40 at to9nights meeting.
Will catch up with them at Roarin 40's if my Cobra can stand another 900k trip today.
Hersh and one of Robs guys will bring a GT40 to tonights Victoria Club meeting. I suggested to them, that we should have about 40 or so members there.
Hope you can all chase some members up to ask them to come tonight.
Hersh is the Phoenix Arizona rep/disributor for Roarin 40's.
Had the pleasure of spending some time with him and Robert in Missouri at Gateway Raceway and can assure you all they are great company and very informative.
So come along and check out the GT40 and meet Hersh
(.a.k.a BTSNAKE on this Forum.)
Will head back with Hersh and stay at Dromana with him and Robert, so hope to get to play at Roarin 40's
Cheers all.
Bernie

Have you been drinking that funny blue Gambier water Bern
First Thursday of every month.
I know you guys can't get enough of me doing my Cobra stuff at the Mercat.
But I need time to rehearse. If I don't have at least a month between gigs my performance suffers.
I think I remember Hersh saying he'll been down for the GP, so hopefully he can make the meeting on the 3rd.

Toooo much bloody sun
Well I did f@#! - up big time.
After the breakfast at the deli Terry suggested that I bring Hersh along to a meeting. Wellll all the way home I planned how I could catch up with them and bring them to a meeting.
For some raeson I had Thursday on my mind with the GP meeting being cancelled.
Posted the Thread and headed off in the sun to Roarin 40's.
Anyway another 2,600 k on the car. Will need an engine rebuild before I get it painted.
Hersh, Bob and I had a great meal at the Mercat Hotel and a fantastic tour of Melbourne. Hersh and I then travelled back to Mt. Martha in the Cobra along the beach. Great night followed by a few rums at Robert Logans place.
Friday a tour of the Roarin 40's factory convinced me the club should have a run down to see the 40's one night.
Hersh and Robert are very committed to the F1 GP with trade displays etc. You may catch up with them there.
Please no jokes about my f@#! - up. I red faced enough.
Cheers
Bernie

Hey Bernie,
If we all took time to list our f#@k ups we wouldn't have space to discuss anything else.
I admire your spirit....
Gel coat an'all.
Who needs a paint job anyway.
Mine is becoming severly damaged. That's what you get looking at MGBGT's for the wife... left the garage and left half of my front undercarriage!
Paint shop is going to busy.

Sure is a red faced situation.
You have your international guest with you and you head up to the club meeting followed by a GT40. Well no club meeting!!!
We had a few drinks and a tour. Your right its no big f#$% up. Just another night out in the car.
Cheers
Bernie

Well, it was no F#*$ up for me. I had a ball and there couldn't have been a better
ambassador for my visit. Bernie and I rode to Melbourne in his Cobra and we met Bob from RF there. We went in the restuarant and had some eats and a few VB's. The Pizza was good and the company was great. Afterwards Bernie drove around Melbourne pointing out things of interest. You guys that live in Melbourne have a nice city. After awhile we headed back. Bernie stopped for
petrol and we were soon aproached by a couple of Victoria's finest. I was amazed at the approach the Officer took when he asked Who's Cobra it was. Bernie fessed up and the the Officer says, "This is what I want to build when I retire". Then he started asking Bernie about his Cobra and Bernie was glad to tell him. Soon they were off and so were we.
So Bernie, Thanks a ton mate for the great time. I'm sorry I wasn't able to meet the rest of the guys but there will be another visit soon.
Hersh

Hersh
I can see you here on 'Australian' clubcobra. Hi mate.
Great to catch up with you. I will never live down the trip to the club meeting. Oh well.
Found the slight miss was a oily plug. Replaced and offff like hell.
Have done a little more work in finishing of the boot/trunk. Get onto the interior footwells over the next week or so. Will get some heat shield for the aluminium footwell exterior.
This will help in reducing the heat. Then it was 95f ( 32c ) in the shade.
Not often you get a couple of friendly cops like that. But the handshake and the - " good day mate " always helps.
Enjoyed catching up at 'Roarin Forties' and staying over at Robert's.
Enjoyed the few rums also. The 'Bundaberg Rum' comes from up north from a little country place called Queensland.
Glad you enjoyed the run around Melbourne also.
Cheers
Bernie
