Just rang the Motel and it looks like the SA boys may be out numbering us this time.

I'll have to try and drum up some more interest at tonights meeting.

I don't think these fellas realise that Summer doesn't last for ever in Vic (and SA).

We had a very successful run across the great alpine road last weekend and I'm looking forward to the run West to catch up with our SA friends at WAB2.

Jason

Thanks for the follow up.

Dunkeld across to Mt. Gambier will take you about 1 and 1/2 hrs.

You should enjoy the Royal Mail Hotel. I will be interested to hear your thoughts on this Hotel and complex. Feel it would make a good location for a run. Good start for the Grampians.

Email if you get some figures so that I can let the restaurants know for seating etc.

Cheers

We're not staying at Dunkeld.
Jude and I have both organised annual leave for the Friday.
So we will see you in Mt Gambier on Friday arvo/night.

Hey George

Thanks for the plans. I will start distillation tonight.

Hope you are staying inside and keeping warm there.

Jason,

How many are heading this way from Victoria. Did you also get a number from SA.

Once I get an idea how many are heading here I will let the restaurants etc. know.

Don't forget to bring any DVD's or videos for the big screen.

Safe driving

Cheers

The motel guys read out a few names for me and I recognised a few SA fellas and only 2 vics. There are heaps of wedding goers staying the weekend so we couldn't go through all the names.
I know Bryan will be up late Friday, Judy and I should be there around 04:00pm. Not sure of the others, I've just put out an email to see if anyone joining us on the Friday afternoon trip.
Did you speak to Rob and John at last weekends breakfast?

Hi Jason

Ring me when settled in and we will catch up for a bite to eat if you feel like it.

I havn't had any feedback from members for the weekend. Like you I checked the register at the Motel and did not recognise more than 10 or so names.

John and I were talking about Mikes wedding at the end of the month. John will not be over this weekend.

Cheers

Talking Top Weekend

Morning Bernie,
Unfortunetly Tina and i cant make it as we have Sale board going up on Monday on one of the lodges and need to finish off a few things prior to the taffic entering on monday.

Actuall it would be a grat pad for you and your crew, even has 3 car garage, pool, water views.

With the amount of time you spend in Melb...

I really enjoyed the trip last year, so please take plenty of snaps.

Take care and safe trip.

Justbetter

Sorry to hear you are busy. Good luck with the Sale. Water views over what water??

Jason has just indicated it may be light traffic from Victoria.

The F1. GP last weekend has a few partners saying.. "your home this weekend doing the garden, family thing etc. etc. You know the deal??

Will get Jason to Post plenty of pictures.

Cheers

Bernie

Hi Bernie,

We won't be coming down this year - car still under construction. I have heard there is a few from Adelaide coming down though.

However we are heading your way during the Easter Break!
Camping with the family for the long weekend in one of the caravan parks.

Would love to meet you and discuss Cobras of course!
Please let me know

Regards
Lyn & Peter McArthur

If we tell you about the trip Bill I will have to kill you. Seriously it was fantastic...when we were in the fine company of Bernie and Mount Gambier. But we sure need some attention to the road between Hamilton and Lake Bolac...hence the new thread. I won't steal Bernie's thunder to inform you about our time there. Jason will post some pics soon.

Lyn and Peter

Sounds great for Easter. Send me an email at

kni-time@bigpond.com

I will send you some contact numbers.

Hi Bill

We had a fantastic weekend of weather, conversation, eating, drinking and driving. Mid 20c and sunny.

Jason may be kind enough to Post some photos of the weekend.

Friday saw a small group of us talking until late in the Motel Restaurant after a fantastic meal.

On Saturday we set up opposite the Motel in the Park under the trees. We were so joined by a mix of early Ford cars.

V8XM ute, Galaxie 2 door, a couple of Fairlanes, XA Coupe, 3 or 4 Mustangs, 35 Ford Coupe and a few other Fords.

We stayed here for a few hours prior to heading down to Cape Bridgewater Bay. A 50k run along the Ocean Road prior to taking a turn down the Bridgewater Road, some 15k of winding road with panoramic views over the ocean.

Some absolute beach front dining was followed by a trip to Antons winery where we were treated to a tank top band
(shades of the Beatles on the barge). Antons Pinot and Chardonay was enjoyed by all. A short tour was then the call and we walked the winery with glass in hand meeting an effigy of a well known Cobra member who had the task of keeping birds at bay (a bit like that Cobra member).

Saturday night saw us walk to nearby Coco's restaurant. A preview of the DVD "Double Vernom Spring Fling" kept us entertained prior to dinner.

Sunday saw us all up early with the manadatory chamois of the Cobra, followed by breakfast at a nearby 5 star restaurant.

A 40k trip to Penola followed. Penola turned of fabulous weather allowing tours of historical sites, galleries, lolly shops and gift shops.

Five different directions were then taken with all of us heading off in the sun after having a great weekend of fun and Cobra conversation.

Cheers

Bernie

Photos coming

Jason's weekend highlights.

Magnificent filet steak meal at the Commodore Friday night.

Pete has done a great job on his new Cobra. Drove from Adelaide on permit to give it's first big run.

The last 10ks to Cape Bridgewater Bay. The road reminded me of the old European hill climbs from the sixties.

Anton’s winery tour was fantastic. Band and all.

Nice warm Spa on the Saturday night (cuddles afterwards with Jude).

Penola was a nice place to say our goodbyes and Bernie’s informative tour guide work over the full weekend once again toped off a great trip.

Last highlight was when the RACV guy successfully silver soldered the transmission line connector to get us back on the road home Sunday night. (Thought we'd be spending Sunday night in Hamilton for a while there)

Thank's once again Bernie for hosting us at the Mount.
