Part of keeping that drive and interest for me was taking that ride in a friends car. I found I went home so enthused to do more work on my Cobra.
No doubt when my Cobra is painted I will get out and drive it more.
Then again, I have done 14,605 since November last year in white Gel coat.
Cheers

Garrett the pusher. Give's the guy his first shot for free and now he's hooked
The ride height at the rear is about right but the front could come down another inch. I'm very happy with the look of the pipes. with the wheels on and the car down on the ground they don't look nearly so bulky.
I was just stiring Les up the other day, I don't know when he'll be in Melbourne. I'm sure he'll want to escape that Queensland sun and enjoy some of Melbourne's fast approaching winter soon.
Cheers

I'll try to snap some better ones outside this week end.
The problem with taking pics in the shed is you can't get back far enough to get the whole car in. There's also a bunch of junk in the background that's distracting.
Cheers

Well Mike, we may just have to go up there and see him and drink some of his beer that he is telling us about.
Looks like you are on track for Wakefield Park now I see the progress. The wheel centres sounded a bit of a pain though.
Have a good Easter stay safe
Cheers

Yep, Wakfield raceway is in Goulburn NSW. You're most welcome to catch a ride from Melbourne with me. It'll either be in the Cobra or the Ute.

Your on Mike.
Let me know about accomodation, if you have organised, if you have spare room to share costs or if you want me to organise for 2 or organise for just me?

Mike,
I can honestly say they are the nicest set of Cobra wheels I have ever seen - they look like a compomotive / halibrand cross.
And those spinners - they look lethal like something off James Bond (Aston Martin DB7) - do they extend when passing a rice burner?
What size are they and where did you get them?
Looks like my Dragways might be going on E-Bay

Mike,
Ben Hurr would have been proud to have spinners like that.
At least you shouldn't hit the rim with the lead hammer.
Your Off set looks different to mine. I will measure it up.
Always wanted 11" guess this is only way I will get it.
Look great mike.

It doesn't just blow the doors off ricers, it cuts them in half on the way past
The Wheels are made By Ozwheels in NSW. The rears are 17x11 and the fronts are 17x8. They are by far my favourite Halibrand style wheels of the ones available. Phil and Leeroy both have them on their Classic Revivals as well and Garrett has them on his Superformance. They are available as a bolt up fitment as well as a pin drive.
Cheers

I booked a room at the same motel we stayed at last year. I guess we can split it. Adrian S and I shared last year. He's booked his own room this year though. I think he was to polite to complain about all the snoring and farting in the night

How do you mean? Are you refering to the links in the window?
When I'm composing the post I use the http:// button above the message window. when you click on it it asks for the name you want to gice the link like Wheels 01. It will then prompt you for the URL of where the picture is on the web. You can then put in the URL of the picture you want to post. The easiest way get the right URL is to open the picture in another web page and right click on it and select properties. In the properties window that appears you will have a field Address and the URL of the picture itself without all the frames etc will be there i.e. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...ear_wheel2.jpg
Try it out
Cheers

Mike,
Wheels look great.
I think they are the same as I have on my cobra although my spinners do not seem as menacing as yours, offset slightly different.
But the rears are 17x 11 which does put the right amount of rubber under the back arches. (using Sumitomo 335)
I never knew where my rims were manufactured I just ordered them through G-Force who had already worked out the correct backspace.
Thanks
Stuart

I was thinking of using 17" x 10" rear wheels but I did notice at Wakefield last yr that a few people were running 17" x 11" with 335 tyres. Can your tyres & wheels be too big? Considering the weight of a cobra, is there a point at which increasing the width of a tyre will actually reduce overall grip b/c the reduced pressure per square inch (increased patch area in contact with the road) is not compensated with the increase in tyre grip?
Or should we all be trying to fit the biggest, badest, coolest looking wheel/tyre combo that will fit
They're some bad a$$ed wheels you've got there Mike

I vote for big and badest hence the number plates BAD-ASP
I guess there probably is a point where the car is over tyred but remember the Cobra has a big proportion of it's weight on the rear wheels. The Lambos and Dodge vipers etc that run these tyre sizes don't seem to have a problem. The engineers that designed them would probably want the best performance out of the car.
I can imagine it might be a factor in understeer and oversteer characteristics. The grip at the front being overpowered by the grip from the rear.
Cheers
