That's only telling half the story. What were the engines and capacities?
I know Bill has a Ford 429 but I'm not sure on the others.
Cheers
Mike

I'm with Mike,
would be great to know the engine setups and transmission type of all the participants.
Mike, in an earler post you mentioned a 25% power loss through the drive train. Is that scientific or finger in the wind?
I'm hoping for 500 at the flywheel, so 375 at the wheels should be quite tidy. I will have both flywheel and rear wheel dyno runs... should be interesting.
As for Garrett.... exactly why do you want more horsepower than that? Silly question I know, but it must be an art to drive at it's potential, none of this point and bury stuff with all that on tap...

direction
Gday Cameron, always been a point, shoot and ask questions later type of guy...
No really after being in the carting world for a while and running twin Rotax, i like the power, now having somthing that handles and stops makes it more fun. Aim now to drive not slide.
But if we are on the home straight and your driving finesse puts you up in front, and you can see me in your mirrors make sure you pop those fingers in your ears cause its then that i'll call on the dark side.

Sounds like the only way I would be in front of you is if you're lapping me
And about that driving technique, drift is all the rage, don't take too much slide out, you'll disappoint the crowds

Looks to me as if Garrett’s power output has been listed in Horsepower and some of the others measured in Kilowatts and listed at HP.
I know Bills car would blow mine to the weeds, but converting 293 HP to KW is only 218 that's 2kw less than mine at the back wheels.
It would make more sense at 293KW. that would be 392.9HP.
If the above was true. Bill only took his Ford powered beast out to 4550RPM.
Looking at Garrett's charts that he attached to another post he was putting out similar numbers at the same revs (maybe a little more).
bill davies 429 Robnell manual
don stafford stroked 351 windsor man
peter duncan hot little 302w man
terry ridley 302w man
alan shervell 302w
alan davies 302w

Guess I'll throw my stats.
428 FE (.60 over) 435 ?
Stock crank & rods.
Keith Black slugs.
Custom grind Comp Cam- (solid flat tappet) Lift 600/600- Tappet lift 290/298- Duration at .050 252/260- Lobe sep. 110
Comp Cams may produce this grind ? We'll see. I wanted something different for our light weight Cobras.
It likes to idle at 1,100 rpm's. Sounds real loppy then & at 2,000 cruising speed. Very happy with it.
Was dynoed at the flywheel. 501 hp
Chassis dyno results.

Well, anyone have a scope to see the sheet ? I'll see if I can do something different ? Maybe I can have it larger in my gallery ?
