Talking Gave the boys some stick!!!

Hey Cobra dudes!

Just got back from Eastern Creek Raceway, spent a whole day with Ferrari / Porsche crowd.

Fellas, you will all be proud of me as I wore my Cobra jacket and cap proudly all day and kept reminding everyone what a real car is!! "Bring on the real muscle cars!" What a trooper!!

Needless to say I had a ball. Not one car under 250K! looking forward to Goulburn even more now!

Hope everyone is well and all projects progressing well! (mine seems to have stalled a little! Must start cracking that whip!)

PS Michelin has just brought out a new tyre DOT approved for both road and track! Straight from the Michelin race dept!! Has been designed to look old (ala Goodyear bluestreaks) Will get more info on them and will update you guys shortly. Had two examples today, they look pretty good and are said to be very good in both dry and wet weather! I personally thought from the samples he had today that the profiles would be a 50 series, I am looking more towards a 60 series to fill the guards more! anyway, great news for all who are looking around!

New I'd make some difference today! By end of day most new what I had and couldn't wait to see it out and about!

Stef

Mando, at this stage I was only shown the 15 inch, I believe as these tyres were solely designed to be used on vintage style cars that they only come in 15", however I will be contacting them tomorrow and will ask for you.

Watch this space!

Default Michelin Tires

http://www.michelinman.com/assets/pd...otsportcup.pdf

Stef:

Is this the tire you were looking at?

I spoke with Michelin this AM..was put on hold while the fellow contacted the racing division, according to him, at this time this is all they acknowleged having in 15" unless you down below have something else available the selection appears limited in 15" diameter. Keep us posted. We sure could use a premium tire, with all the current technology without having to go to +1 or +2 sizing.

Also interested.

If Rick's post is for the same tyre it seems it would fit my 16" rims, which is rare as I have odd profiles 50 & 45 series.

Does the tyre have the traditional white lettering too.

That would make my day.

If so, anyone want to buy a set of used Falken's 225 / 50 & 245 / 45 x 16?

The two sizes in 15's are just too short for use on a Cobra.

Darn......just when I was getting my hopes up

Ok guys, an update!

Rick,

No these aren't the ones, apparently they are a brand new release targeting the likes of us!

Cameron,

Hold your horses before you do anything until you see these tyres, it might be worth your while, and for everyone elses for that matter!

Peter,

Unfortunately these are a reproduction of the tarmac rally tyres of the 70s and only come out in 13" & 15"! Sorry buddy! From the ones I saw yesterday these did not have any writing on them! Damn!!

Will be recieving an email soon with the tyre spec and photos!

Not sure of the pricing yet but will definitely bust on price if a few lots can be ordered! He He!

Watch this space again!

Stef

Will update as soon as possible!

Stef,

If your interested, Goodyear do a nice compound tyre with raised lettering - Eagle GT+4

Not sure on the sizes though

Have you seen them or know of any sizes.

May suit the traditionalists

OK Gentlemen!

No official pricing at this stage but said would be around $400 to $600 depending what sizes you get!

Note: 215s are 24.17 inches in diameter
295s are 24.21 inches in diameter

Click on Classic TB15 then you click on specification(picture provided!

Note: Alternative sizes down the bottom of spec sheet are probably more correct than the first sizes shown!

I'ts not what you know!!

Unofficial website for our eyes only!

Hope I've made someones day!
