I think you have been driving the Superformance to fast.
It has robbed you brain of oxygen.
Keep it up and we'll have to ship north.

Is the north the Dark Side???

Garrett if you get a chance you may want to comment on the last Thread on I.C.E by Tim Fabian. He is looking at a kit in the States there.

P.S is the bottom end still in one piece on the LS1 there. ?? Some serious horsepower with the top end add ons and work.

Look forward to seeing it at the Nationals.

Bernie

You may not even need to run the duct outside the body. There's a heap of air pressure built up inside the wheel wells. remember the Ferrari 250 GTO had huge cut outs in the rear guards to let the air out.

I reckon all you really need is a small air deflector on the bottom of the diff housing to push air flowing under the car up around the brakes. The XU1 Torrana used a similar idea to cool the front brakes. They had a small metal chin spoiler on the front that deflected air towards the insides of the front wheels.

A small air deflector under the diff would only need to extend down a couple of inches and would leave you plenty of ground clearance. Being directly under the diff it's not going to snag easily because it lifts as the wheels ride over speed humps etc.

Cheers

Mike

Thats sounds like the idea.

I had previously suggested that the duct could be under the seats/floor and bent upwards at say about 90 degrees towards the diff.

Your idea would not effect ground clearance as I recal REPTYL is quite low (the car that is).

Mike have put that Shepparton date in the diary. Thanks

Cheers

Bernie

The deflector would be channeling the hot air from the engine and transmision tunnel.
I'm guessing it would still work ok, but the cold air option sounds better.
I've only got a couple of inches clearance at the back, if I put a deflector on I'm sure I'd pick up the odd stone or two (and a lot of dust).
I also mowed down a few ripple strips at Calder on Wednesday, so I can't have anything hanging lower than the chassis rails or I'd be leaving them on the curbs

Oi Mike.....whats this Ferrari 250 GTO bit?

Some early racing cobras had the vent too ... but it was more to extract hot air than relieve pressure in the wheel well.

The object being the same tho...circulation of air.

Having just read some posts from those from the dark side, I got to thinking about hot air

Actually, I found these while trying to find a pic for Jason.

Here's a pic of a solution for helping get rid of under bonnet heat and pressure

WooHoo..
Got my vented rear disk kit today and I must say:

Quality is awsome
Service was outstanding

All this was causing me to "review" my attitude with regard to Victoria. This was somewhat worrysome as I have spent a lifetime putting $hit on anything or anyone who had any links with this damp freezing hole.

I was thinking I'd have to grovel to all those who hail from the area but no, fortunately, I am saved from having to "eat my past words".

You know what they got down there now??

A bluddy higher authority which taxes us poor Queenslanders for purchasing bits and pieces in the place.

Like we buy stuff from there, we supplement their standard of living, and they now add a bluddy Victorian export tax.

Whew!! ... Thank gawd the status quo remains.

Oi Jason .. Thanks for the lead for these bits .. muchly appreciated.

Hehehehehehehe
