Easy way out.
Hi Guys,
After looking at kits trying to decide what kit to go with I stumbled onto an RCM tucked under blankets in a corner of a garage thru a friend of mine. After chasing down the owners number I gave him a call to see if he was interested in selling the car, the answer was yes. To cut along story short I saw the car, made an offer and pick up the car Saturday, just in time for Fathers Day. The car is five years old 2200 kays on the clock 302 clevland with four speed top loader and jag front and rear. I still would like to build a kit at a later date.
Regards

Well done Ross
However, not necessarily the easy way out.....
Another person's handywork is not necessarily as you want it.
As I've found out - these little beasts keep pulling at the purse strings
What stage is the build at (registered etc) and what other essentials (goodies etc) does it need.
Hopefully, you can take it for a spin on Father's Day
Mine's currently got no gearbox - makes them quick starts somewhat difficult

Goodonya Ross...and it's got a FORD too...woohoo.
Post some pics when you so we can all celebrate your win.
Hey Ross ... Word of advice...watch that NASSTY fella...he's a closet dark side member
Hope it's everything you want it to be, should go very well with a 302 cleveland....and..relatively cheap to turn into a fire breather...just swop the motor internals and some other minor changes and you will have one hell of a car.
Not that there's anything wrong with the 302 Clevo.
Cheers

Well done Ross, just what any good father would want on "Fathers day". Cant wait to see some pic's of it. I live live around the corner (Beauy) so if you would like to catchup at some stage send me a PM. I am building a classic revival and nearly there so I would be happy to show you progress to date.

I've been singing the praises of the ALMIGHTY LS1 for ages now Rebel1
Me thinks it is you who is living in the closet. Come on Les, time to step out and proclaim your luv for CHEV
(Assuming, of course, that's the only reason you want to come out of the closet! )

I reckon Les will step out of the closet wearing some platform shoes, bell bottoms, a paisley shirt with a huge collar and a large gold medalion of some sort.
Hang on, that's what he always wears.

Mike,
You're a bit off with the era.
Paisleys and platform shoes were well after Les's prime time.
I would have said demob suits were more appropriate.
And Les - before you cooment, you look really well for your age

hehehehe
As Rodney Rude would say .. G'day trendsetters
Oi, what is this anyways, Lets pick on Les week?
Anyways Mike, ya right about the flares and platforms....used to wear em..... but not for being fashion concious....had to wear em just to look as tall as the girls I was taking out.
Ever seen that commercial on TV where the guy gets to meet a tall lady at a bar and gets his face pulled into her cleaveage on the dance floor...well..that's the story of my life
Hey..I've still got some of my paisleys, they were always a bit tight...now....well....they wont button up anymore. Unfortunately, I don't have the Kombi I used to drive around in those days.
Now... If ya really wanted a giggle, I'd post a pic of me in a light blue safari suit and dripping with the gold baubles ... Lucky for you lot, the suit has also shrunk over the years.
But...and I promise ya this...cross me heart and spit to death...I never did like the Village people.
Talkin about music....my daughter just bought me "Black Betty" by Spider bait.
Now....That track is definitely being added to my cobra play list.
Pete, you'll keep

Congratulations Ross, Looks like a fine machine.
That 302 Cleveland motor has tons of potential too when you find you need a few more ponies (and you will). Despite my dark side leanings I'm a fan of the Cleveland. I've got a warmed up 351 in my F100 4x4.
We've got our monthly Vic Cobra club meeting on Thursday evening, you should come on down if you havent been before. We meet at the Mercat Cross hotel next to the Vic Market from about 7:00pm onwards . Usually a meal and a few drinks and plenty of Cobra banter. Hope to see you there.
Les,
I've still got a few paisley shirts in my wardrobe. They had a resurgance in the 80's when I was trying to impress the girls with my snappy clothes. They are a bit too snug to wear now. Funny how clothes shrink when you don't wear them for a long time.
Cheers

Sorry Ross, I'm bad with names. I remeber details about engines and stuff but names and phone numbers...
The only way I remember Les' name is cause it's written on the back of the little voodo doll I have of him. Where's that pin gone...
Slap me upside the head tonight and I'll you a beer.
Cheers
