Default First inspection

I just had the first inspection as required by the Motor Vehicle Registery here in the NT for an individually constructed vehicle and I passed with no worries at all.

The inspected looked at my car and said "looks damn good to me"

So that is the first stage done, now it is time to refit the body and connect all steering and brakes for second inspection.

And yes if you are wondering I am as happy as a pig in 5hit.

Great work Dave, another step closer. Your Battery box is ordered. When do you want it? I'll let you organise freight

Hey Leeroy, What did front end feel like? Any issues with wheel alignment at rear? Happy with the sound? Good luck on 4th.

Phil

Congratulations David. I'll bet it's a good feeling to get some of that stuff out of the way and a load off your mind.

Cheers

Thanks Dave & Phil. The front end has worked out and it handles so well. I cannot believe how nicely it drives you can drive it like a Corolla or a Cobra and it seems to like both just as well. I drove it home last night after late work on door align. On the way in to work today I was pulled over by police, he asked for permit & licence and as we got talking all he was interested in way motor & paint job. Let me go and he didnt even see my permit!! Everyone Loves a Cobra.

Great job Dave, do you require progressive inspections in the NT sounds like a pain in the A..., but it would be good to find out that everything is on track and not waiting until you have finished.

Hope it doesn't rain on the 4th Leeroy good luck.

I'm booked in on Monday 1st at Vicroads for rego. Hope it doesn't rain then either .

Phil

Dave, Leeroy and Phil

Good stuff! And good luck!

All this talk of finishing cobras and the Nat's have gotten me back into the shed! The warm days are helping too. My cobra is in a single garage so space is at a premium so I usually work outside on a portible bench and I have a small bench at the back of the shed as well but it's not suitable for some things. I'll be posting some more pic's in the near future!

Yeah the NT requires 3 inspections during build, (chassis and mounting points, then body on steering & brakes connected, then last is completed vehicle), an inspection by engineer to check all adr's and testing figures (torsional, and beaming tests), then finally an inspection by the MVR as a final inspection to supply the vin#

NASSTY

Don't tell me the family car is left out in the weather..

The warmer weather does help. I built most of my car out in the car park in the sun behind McDonald Bros. Racing. Even painted the chassis etc. out there on a warm still day..

Good to hear that you are back into it. Catch up soon

Bernie

Leeroy

Driving it around on Sunday..

Driving it to and from work..

Tyring to out run the Police..

A man after my heart..

I had not been driving in the Cobra for nearly a week after driving up to Swan Hill and back to Mt. Gambier. Then on Sunday it was great weather here.

I had an over nighter at work fitting new equipment and my wife Anne woke me at 1.00 and said lets go for a drive...

I went out and checked the number on the letterbox.. yes I was at the right house and raced in and took her for a drive also a coffee.

... she even offered to drive home.

I thought of Mr. REPTYL and Mrs. REPTYL and thought, no I'm not sharing my toys..

Then again, she might shame me around the track (Todd my son did and so did Mrs. REPTYL)

Glad to hear your driving and having fun..

Bernie

Hey guys, you know the rules.

If we didn't stick to these rules how would we stay married?
