Have any of you guys that have got your cars on the road got 4 or 5 point harnesses in or is it not possible to pass with them in .
Im hopeing not to have to fit the retractables and only have a harness but i have heard conflicting stories

I've been looking into this too. So far I've found that there are a couple of 4 point harnesses that are ADR approved. One is made by Autotecnica and is reasonably priced. Check out the harnesses on their web page Autotecnica
The only problem with the ADR legal harnesses is that they are only 2" webbing and they all uses a traditional deatbelt catch. None of the 3" wide camlock belts seem to be legal at this point. It may be because it's possible to only half do up the belt with a cam lock setup.
Cheers

Hi guys,
I dont know about your neck of the woods but in S.A. we are not allowed to use any harnesses what so ever. My Engineers explanation was that the ADR specifies RETRACTABLE, and no harness can do that trick. If you can get around this please let me know!
Regards.

Mando , I to am in SA but my engineer told me that there may be a loop hole in there and he is quiet confident he can get a harness through and now thanks to Aussie Mike i can accually get a harness that is ADR approoved (Thanks Mike ) and that was my engineers main concern was to find an ADR aprooved harness , I will let you know what he says

Does anyone know if a seatbelt that passes the European equivelant of our adr's is ok to use?
As I can get belts that are 3inch with button release buckle that meet the European spec.

Boxhead
Anne's Merc Station Wagon (2004) has had the belts swapped for the ADR Australian stuff by Mercedes Australia.
Don't know what Mercededs do with the belts. Send them back..
I have heard that belts are cut in cars that are imported..
Again, don't know about this for sure..
Looks like you need the stuff with the ADR # and label on it.

Seat Belts
ADR is a wank just like some of the crap in NZ
we have to get a card that will let us use full harness etc on the road, here you need to have a competition licence!
Willans make a 2" belt that has a snap buckle, with good quality snap on eye bolt ends, about same price as a full 3" web belt with rotary buckle, and then you have to find someone that will bring them in, here there is a big duty on seat belts.
The numbers of the 2" belt are:
European ECE Reg. No 16 & FMVSS209
These belts dont have an expiry, but if they appear worn or frayed they are out!
The 3" belts from almost all manufacturers are FIA approved that means for motorsport they expire in 5 years, but can be used for International competition.
SFI 16.1 Belts from the USA have a two year life, before they are required to go back and be re-webbed etc. I have a new SFI 16.1 full harness from Cobra Restorers 1990 when I built my first Cobra it wasnt used so been in storage.....now illegal for motorsport, and it looks perfect never been in the sun etc. These bast**ds will keep a man poor all in the efforts of "safety BS"

Here is a link to some more harness style 2 inch belts that are adr compliant http://www.revolutionracegear.com.au...CB46A6B8C62168
I have the list for the 3inch Euro belts at home, I will bring the details to work tomorrow and post what I can.
