The event is over the 2005 Easter week end.

The evening of Friday 25th March (Good Friday) will be the meet and greet where competitors can get their info packs etc

Also on Friday we hope to do some scrutineering of competitors cars prior to Saturdays racing. This will save us some time on Saturday morning and give people more track time. Competitors will also have the oportunity to have their cars scrutineered prior to the event if they can get it down for Don Stafford to have a look at.

Saturday 26th March will be Sprint Racing. Should be awesome to see Cobras, GT40's, Shelby Mustangs and even a Daytona or two duking it out on the track for a trophys and bragging rights.

Sunday morning 27th March will see us assembling for a 150KM cruise accross to Heathcote. The run will be through some nice Victorian countryside with a few twisty bits thrown in for good measure. It'll be a sight to see a big bunch of awesome 60's muscle cars cruising together.

At Heathcote raceway we will be drag racing all day for more trophies and bragging rights. You'll be testing your reactions and driving skills over Heathcote's full 1/4 mile strip.

The comp will be a DYO eliminator so every one has an even chance to win. There should also be plenty of grudge race opertunities. (you Ford boys will have the oportunity to shut those Dark Side fellas down).

Rounding out Sunday evening will be a BBQ dinner, trophy presentation and a chance to swap lies and tall tales of your racing prowess.

This will be an awesome event and one not to miss.

Cheers

Mike...I have reserved that weekend in my diary. Unless something catastrophic happens..I will fly down and shack up in the gateway.

Given that I wont be driving I'll be available and willing to assist in whatever way you guys require help. I know with these things there is always a shortage of volunteers on the days so keep that in mind.

I'll bet some more Queenslanders will come too. We just welcome the opportunity to "black Flag" those " dark side" blokes.

Cheers

Hi Les,

You will be most welcome. It would be great to see some Queenslanders come down for the event. I'm sure there will be a spare seat in the Super Cruse for you.

Cheers

Got plenty of boot space for all the trophies Scott?

That's great news that you'll make the trip Scott and it speaks volumes of the profile we hope this event will have.

Now you'll just have to stir up a few more Banana benders to take the trip south.

Cheers

Entry forms can be found at this link:
CTC SHELBY FEST ENTRY FORM

Should also be posted out with the next Snaketales.
The State Cobra co-ordinators should also have copies.

It is very important that you book your accommodation early as this is a very busy time of the year for travelers.

Still 20 rooms left at the Gateway- these will go fast once Snaketales hits the letter-boxes.

Warren(our President) has emailed around entry forms and info to QLD members.

I'll be on my honeymoon then, so won't be able to go. Unless we honeymoon in Vic.

By the sounds of it, John will be bringing down 400TT again. Be interesting to see what sort of interest it generates from QLD as we have been struggling of recent years with numbers for Nationals.

Boy it's a long drive in a Cobra, if they have the numbers, maybe a car transporter would be the way to go.

Thumbs up Rob Hamilton has given the go ahead

After much discussion with the relevant legal teams, Rob and I have come to an agreement to allow his old pride and joy to
venture onto the Winton Race Track.

If Rob's current project is not on the road by then he is still
legally binded to assist in the cleaning/detailing of said vehicle.

So that means I will be at the Shelby Event......
