Paul...
I guess you're not aware...but......
Anyone frequenting this site can only make intakes outta PVC sewage pipe.
Thats the tradition...
Have a look in Jason1's galley and you'll see what I mean.
Tell ya wot tho...thats a bluddy good way of hiding an LS1
Ohhhhhhhh...nice workmanship but the way ... mike better watch himself

Rebel you should have a closer look in my gallery as there all ready is a shot of a pvc setup which was my first idea but after some consideration it looked very one sided that is why it was changed to the small pipe either side of the throttle body.
Mike you dont have anything to worry about as most of it was done by a freind all i did was polish it (I cant weld to save my life)

You should be proud either way. I love seeing people make this sort of stuff. It's what building your own car is all about and a real source of enjoyment for me.
I've been looking at doing something like your sewage pipe version myself but in Aluminium and stainless.
Cheers

Paul...like you I cant weld to save myself.
Mind you, I should buy a small mig and practice but I've not had the incentive to do so yet.
Maybe that Mike fella can make a mig recommendation to me for home/light duty use.
Fiberglass....now thats a different kettle of fish. I just love the stuff. I dont care if It's carbon fibre, Kevlar,E,S,or K fabrics....I'll play with it.
Anyways..good job....I don't even mind the sewage pipe one.
Cheers all

Well done Paul thats looks excellent and I love those covers and the chev emblem over the aibox. I too have been trying to decide how to finish my intake at this stage I have just a pod filter bolted to the MAF. Want to lose the MAF and go with a cold air intake of some kind. Congrats on a very original (Paul) setup, love it

Great work! Very original, and it should get the cool air in nicely. It would of course be better if the two feeder pipes were directed to a couple of GT35 Garrett turbochargers

Leeroy , 750hp,
Thanks ofr the kind words it did take some head scatching to come up with the design and i must admit im am glad that the side sections cover up the ugly coil packs that are on the gen3 . And to all honesty i had thought of twin turbos at a later date that would feed from each side (Now that would look pretty good)

Well done Ledge. If I had seen what you and Mike had done to your motors, I probably would have gone for the LS1.
I cant believe I said that.
To late now.
Regards.

Hi boxhead,
I knew that one would come back and bite me on the a$$.
Ive done just about everything I can. I had a tough time fitting the doors onto the body. The flat metal bars that the stricker bolt to had to be cut and moved sideways and the fibreglass either side of that metal bars running down to the floor had to be cut and realigned taking the stress out of the body. I was lucky to know of a guy in Adelaide who is absolutely brilliant with these sorts of problems. Ive been waiting for my approval from Motor Registration to build what I want for about 4 months. My engineer tells me they have approved it, but theres no way Im going to start building it without that letter in my hand. Block is in Adelaide , heads are in Sydney and gearbox is in Brisbane. Once Ive got those bits Ill put them into the car so the complete exhaust can be made up. Ive been of for the last 10 days so Ive fitted heater, fresh air vent (drivers side only), seatbelts, windsreen and wipers. I decided to put in only 2 instead of 3.
Regards.
