Default Boxhead and E Bay

Hi Boxhead,
Ive noticed you keep an eye out on the E Bay site quite a bit. Have you bought or sold anything through EBay, and did you have any problems with getting money or recieving goods?

Regards.

I buy and sell quite a bit on ebay. If I'm buying I look at the person's feedback first thing. Too many negatives and I walk away. Big volume dealers will always have negatives, because there are people that just like to complain. If selling, you like at feedback and see if the person is a deadbeat buyer. Most aren't, and if they don't send the money, you're not out anything but some time.

Shortly before Christmas last year, I found a gal in Oz that had a hand blown glass cobra for sale. I emailed her and asked if she could get 5 more. She said she would check, and a couple of days later got email that she could. I was a little worried about them coming that distance and surviving. Well each one was packed in bubble wrap and boxed seperately, and all made the trip intact. They were presents for friends.

Most on ebay are on the up and up, but you just have to do a little homework, when buying.

I have bought afew things from there, and have been very happy with every transaction in the end bar 1.
The bad 1 was a Cobra badge for the nose of my car, it was described as perfect.
When I recieved it it was very well packed but after opening the box and unwrapping it I found some heavy, deep scratches accross the face, I left the guy negative feed back stateing the item was not in the condition as described.
He offered to but it back at the price plus postage that I paid for it, but as I said to him the fact he sold it with poor description I would prefer others know this than be bought out.
Maybe I am being too morale, but sorry that is the way I am.

I've bought and sold on eBay with minimal fuss. Definately check their feedback, and low-volume sellers are usually very keen to keep a very high feedback score and so give great service.

I have purchased from sellers in US and UK, but use PayPal if possible (it is credit card related, a third party company debits your C'Card and pays the person, all you need is a C'Card and an email address) and don't send Western Union Money Transfer to overseas sellers, because it is not-secure.

If selling anything, be wary of offers outside of eBay for purchase of the goods, as scammers lurk out there! If you are approached, re-list the item on eBay and tell them to bid on it.

Feel free to ask me any further questions. I have done about 50 transactions in eBay now, and still hold a 100% positive feedback score.

Thanks for the advice. I feel a lot more confident and the process doesnt seem as complicated as it first looked.
Thanks again for the tips.

Regards.
