Default Dash Warning Lights

Looking for suitable dash warning lights and come across warning light module which incorparates blinkers, lights, battery, oil and handbrake. Looks like a good idea, has anyone seen these before.
If you have to do a search it is called a Bright 6

While were on the subject of dash lights, I was told today that one of the dash lights to do with the brakes needs to come on when the key is in the accessories position, then turn of once the car starts. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Sorry to be so vague.

In response to your dash light question, there is a mob in Melbourne that supplies and engraves the individual lights in the appropriate colours. I think youll find most of the guys here have got them. I think theyre fantastic and theyre cheap. Theres a picture in my gallery, if youre interested Ill find the details for you.

Regards.

Mando,
I did read a number of posts late last year about lights like yours, but I thought that they were a limited run arranged by a forum member and were no longer available.
If there is a company that sells lights which are engraved I would be interested.

Thanks
Warren

Mando Safety warning lights such as brake fail, seat belt are supposed to have a lamp test each time the vehicle is used. It can be wired so it illuminates when Ign. on and extinguishes when engine starts, or a momentary test as the key is in the crank position. Perhaps even a timer circuit?

WKB,

Not particularly original, but cute. Uses LED's so no bulbs to burn out. Never seen one on a Cobra, but my dash is not stock either.

I have purchased stuff from Europa Specialist Spares and they are a good outfit. Great source for OEM Cobra stuff like lights, mirrors, gas caps, windshields, etc.

WKB,
sounds like mate has the lights you want. Let me know if you still want details regarding the people who make them in Melbourne. Theyll make them up when ever needed. They were not a limited run.

Regards.

Mando,
I have arranged to get the lights from Mate. I was talking to a couple of cobra builders today and they are still looking for lights. If it isn't any hassle I still would like the details thanks.

Lightbulb Do it yourself

As Simon said, I did about 20 or 30 (lost count) runs of lights last year. Check my gallery for close up shots.

For all you do-it-yourself'ers out there, this is how to get them made.

1. Buy the lights. They are Britax globes with part number SL67/x where x is the colour (B-Blue, G=Green, R=Red, A=Amber). I got mine from Bursons for about $5 or $6 each from memory. You can buy them elsewhere too. Checkout britax for details on distributors.

2. Send them to the engraver. The engraver I used is:-
Abell Business Image
Factory 2, 31 Cleeland Rd
South Oakleigh
Melbourne
Ph. 9545 6136
There are two guys named Ken there and either will know what you're talking about if you say they are Cobra dash lights. Give them a call first. When you send them, make sure you say what symbol goes on which colour light (what is obvious to you is not obvious to them). They still have all the artwork that I did so no problem there.

The cost was/is $16.50 for laser engraver machine set up (one off cost) plus $4 odd for each light. Plus postage back to you I guess.

Word of warning....sometimes they can't tell if the machine is centred until they engrave a light. So it might pay to send them one extra light to 'play' with to make sure all the others will be spot on. I had to do a few re-runs because of this so it may save you time.

Hope this helps.

Adrian.

Minos, your dash lights were sent this morning in a padded bag for their protection, and the registered mail receipt number is: 632593.

If you choose to use the LED’s and need to know any info on how to set them up, just contact me and I will help.

Regards, Simon

WKB,

Adrian S has posted details of the people that engraved my lights. If you use them be certain to let them know what symbol goes on what coloured light. They are as good as anything Ive seen.

Regards.
