What type of car are you building?
Is it a scratch build or a kit?
The more info you can supply us the easier it will be to answer your questions.

You can actually generate your own chassis number for this kind of project. However to get a VIN number and get it registered wil require an Engineers report.

Since you're building an individulally constructed vehicle it will be registered as a new vehicle and need to meet all of the current ADRs. This is a project you wil have to work with an engineer on from start to finish.

You will have to get torsion and beaming test results on your chassis and it will have to do better than 6000NM per degree of twist. You will also eed to run an enginethat meets the current Euro 3 emissions spec.

Give Collin Young a call. He's the engineer that's doing the report on my car. You can reach him on 03 9580 3024 Colin has had plenty of experience on ICVs.

Cheers
