Glad to hear you blokes had such a great time. I would've loved to have been there but unfortunately I was moving house over the long weekend. Only good thing to happen was I've had to get cracking on trial fitting the suspension to get NASSTY rolling; easilest way I thought to move her to the new locale. She's got slave wheels on her boots at the moment but otherwise she looks like a roller with no windshield. My wheels should arrive in the next week or two (sent them back to the mftr as they didn't fit ) so I will post picks later.
Glad everyone had fun and all the cars are mostly in one peice

Yes it is a bit crowded at the moment. At least it's encouraged me to tidy the place up. Need to clean all the junk off the bench and make a clean area to work in.
Al, it's good to hear you are making some progress. Hope the new house has a more suitable snake pit. Who's wheels did you get? Ozwheels? By the sounds of it the new guy that's taken over needs to work on his quality control a bit. Stiffy got some nice new wheels from him but he didn't follow instructions and made the off set on one wrong. But at least he's fixing them with no fuss.
Cheers

G'day Mike
I've got ROH wheels. They're called adrenalin modular. 18x8 fronts and 18x10 rears. I've already got the rubber too - 245/40/18 fronts and 285/35/18 rears Yokohama AVS sport V102. The wheel is a 10 spoke open centre design similar to some BMW wheels but even better IMHO.
The wheel studs appeared to be correct from my measurements but the wheel centre was too small. The rims are beautifully polished and the centres are shadow chrome which will match my paint job fine.
It was a great feeling pushing the baby out of the shed into sunlight for the first time but I'll have to take some pics as the whole suspension needs to be dismantled and reconditioned. I've got most parts and I wanted to do it all before the move but circumstances made me decide to bolt it all together and see how it fits before moving. Turned out to be the right decision.
I was hoping to get up the Heathcote but there was no time. Appart from pics we need times and motor specs if possible. Looks like some respectible times were posted by some bowtie snakes.

Also,
The new house has a double garage instead of the single in the old house. Mrs NASSTY had her checklist for the new house but I only had one item and I wasn't prepared to compromise!

Some serious times there for cars that were driven hundreds of kilometres to the drag strip after a track day..

There may be only the 1 bow tie in there, but look at its placeing onthe day.
Not a bad average, when compared to those boat anchor boys.

Boxy, before you start the Ford Chevy debate...consider that 50% of the 'bowties' didn't make it to the dragstips start line after the racing at Winton.
The one Chevy that ran was placed behind 4 Ford powered units.
2 gt40's and 2 Cobras (I didn't list Laurie Bongalis's time because he wasn't officially entered (he ran an 11.74).
11 of the Fords that he ran faster than were only 5 litre (7 stockies).
Even my old gas powered Clevo was only .2 of a second behind him. You can pick up one of these for $200 in the trading post.
The only reason they don't use gen3's for boat anchors is the cost to bloody much

I am not doubting your driving skills Jason.
I was at Goulburn last year and watched you drive around the track.
Maybe once Phil, Mike and Myself get same lap practices we may be able to keep up with that big ol Clevo of yours.
But down the strip where (in my opinion) the skills arent the same as around a track the Gen III did ok.

Oh No... Here we go again.
I think we are getting away from the point here a bit. We aren't putting down the performance of the Fords. There were some astounding displays of blue oval Horse Power on the week end.
What we are impressed with is the out of the box performance of the LS1 in Phils car. His motor is internally stock as a rock, exactly as it was in the Commodore it was pulled from.
The engine hasn't had a spanner turned on it. The only mods done to it were an exhaust system and an air intake both of which were nescecary since the stock GM equipment wouldn't fit anyway.
Also remember that Phils car still needs a lot of sorting. He's never had it on the drag strip before and before going to Winton the car only had 1000KM on the clock.
I reckon it's a pretty impressive first up performance with a lot of potential left for improvement.
Cheers

I met Phil on the Thursday night and spent Friday out at the track with him. What a great bloke. He even drove me in to Benalla to get some extra engine oil. That car of his is a very nice machine and the car sounds and goes great. And there is nothing wrong with the way he drove it. He got around the track very nicely.
I think IMHO all the cars regardless of the engine make did an excellent job all weekend.
To drive hundreds of Ks to get to Wagarratta then complete a full day at Winton driving hard (2 days for some).
Then drive 200k's to Heathcote for some hard dragging then back home again.
WOW! What a testament to the build quality of these Aussie beasts.

well said Jason and as you said what a great bunch of Aussie beasts. Great to see so many guys willing to come so far and give it their all out on the track. As a spectator you could only be impressed and envious of what you saw. Well done all involved.

I will put my matches back in my pocket too.
I wasnt trying to start anything, just a bit of fun, Honest
I am allready planing on being there with my car so I will most likely swing past Bernie's place and talk him into it next time around.
So I will have a little further to drive than most others (and loveing every second of it)
