Classic Revival unfinished kit for sale

Before you all jump to conclusions, this isnt mine.
No way mine is sold until I drive it atleast once.

I am not sure if this link is going to work but here I go.
No it looks like a direct link wont work
Go to http://www.tradingpost.com.au/
Type in Cobra in search, click all states, click on Used Vehicles : Sports & Performance : AC : Cobra
And click on the the first car for sale.

It could be a good buy for someone starting with nothing and wants a car to build themselves.

This brings another question to mind,
If someone came up to you and said I will give you $xx,xxx would you sell your car?
I know If someone came up and asked me to sell my car and it was a good price it would be gone before I could blink.

How could you put your heart and soul and 2 years of work into something you love and then sell it?? Id imagine that even the tougest of Alice Springs boys would have just a tiny tear glistening in the corner of one eye watching that drive away.

I count at least 5 unfinished cobras in the TP. I wonder if its the new ADR's that are scaring a few unfinished builders off and they want to dump it on an unsuspecting buyer. For instance this one:

Quote:

AC Cobra Replica Unfinished project, 5Lt, EFI Ford engine, Jag suspension, pwr steer, etc, $10000 or near offer, unreg SOMERSBY 0427-45 4589.
Could you get this through with the ford motor?? This is in NSW as well.

I will drive it every day if I can (and luckily it doesnt rain too much out here).

No this isnt my car for sale.

I will finish mine and drive it first.

Dont get me wrong when I say I would sell mine if someone wanted to pay too much money.

What I am trying to say is I dont grow attached to cars (but I havent finished this one yet) and I would happily sell it so I could build another.

I was just wondering what other peoples thoughts where mainly regarding our cars.
When I told my wife I would sell the Cobra if someone offered the right money she was shocked.

Mine has been a 25 yr very passionate dream, a 14 year build, (on the road in '97 but still not painted). The wife has been trying her hardest to turn it into 2 new bathrooms or a pool for a couple of years now, and I said it's not going untill its at least finished.
I told her it will only be replaced by a 66 fastback Mustang anyway. Her main gripe is, a family of 4 don't go into 2 seats.

Tenrocca, don't know about NSW but Vicroads has given ICV's that had build start dates before 1/1/05 an exemption to current ADR's, instead ADR 37/01 applies. This allows you to use a 5.0 windsor after 1/1/99. It's very important that any prospective buyer checks the engine numbers!

Bernie

BMK 04-04-2005 07:33 PM

Kristen

I just saw your "Post". Are you telling me that only you and Gary go out in the Cobra..

You leave the kids at home..

Girl have you got any sisters. You also had better send some photos..

I guess it is really quite to just get out there and listening to the roar of the exhaust in the Cobra on the open road, instead of the roar of kids. Hell mine are all grown up and now cost a lot more money..%/

I still just go out and have a bit of of blast to clear my head.

Bernie
