Purely speaking on body shape, which kit manufacturer has the most accurate (to original) 427 body shape??? Dont be put off replying when you read this, cos there are more questions below!!!
Also, which kit do you think has the nicest looking body shape?? Also some kits have features (obviously) that other kits dont have. What does another kit have that you wish your's did have?? And vice-versa, what does yours have that you wish it didnt?? This can be body-wise, chassis-wise, whatever.

I sometimes wish mine had come with a willing blonde and an esky.
I quite like the shape of the RMC (what I have) as the back doesn't sit too high like some. There is also a couple bodies that are off centre by over 40mm. I know the originals were hand made & thus not symmetrical anyway, but I think they were closer than that.
I think the options are fairly similar across the board.

Tuff question as beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
and....
Who's to say whats exactly original and whats not, given the differences of the originals.
I like the RMC because it has whats attractive to me....there are very fine details I notice between kits which are impossible to explain but easy to see when two cars are sitting side by side and those details are pointed out.
That means, I like the RMC, the Harrison, and the G-force. All similiar bodies.
What I don't like about the RMC was the longer narrower scoop. Thats been replaced on mine with a copy of the original scoop. That has been corrected on the other two similiar bodies.
Mine came with the le-mans filler well in the wrong place..now relocated further back to where it should be.
Things I would change include cutting off the chassis forward of the front suspension mountings to enable the installation of a radiator which is more upright or leaning back at the top rather than leaning forward at about a 45 degree angle.
Moulding a recess into the front right inner wheel well for the power brake booster rather than have the booster exposed behind the front wheel and also cutting the tops of the footboxes for the wider 351 allowing more room to get the left back spark plugs out.
Mind you, most of these modifications have been made to the harrison and the new body for the g-force so my above comments are only relative to an older RMC.
Having said all that....The RMC has a shape which appeals to me from all angles.
EDIT: I dont agree with the Blond suggestion.....I really couldn't care what colour her hair is/was.

In Aus, I think the Python (taken from an Arntz) Dax, G-force all have great lines, as close as to orig, RMC also good but has lost some flare on rear guard, also RC Sports car, and Byan's at Homebush comes up quite good, some others seem to have gotten to refined, but if you had never seen one before, any one of them would be instant woody material.

I could be biased but in my opinion The Classic Revival has the most accurate 427 S/C shape of the down under kits.
When you have a look at one check out the shape of the front flares and the correct lip on the rear guards.
There was an article in Australian Classic Car a while back that had a comparison between a real 427 and a CR. Once you look past the modern 17" wheels with a shallow dish on the CR the bodies are very close.

i dont know, having never seen an original 427, but the G-Force mold was originally taken off a real 427.. so it would have to be close.. his new body he claims that hes made it 100% symmetrical (as the orginals were hand rolled they werent)
so this is why we chose G-Force.. plus his fibreglassing is very straight and clean. better than the other kits i have seen that arent straight (even in their demo model)

minivan... Did Rob Grave tell you that? I was told G-Force was flopped off a DAX, and I believe this as I had Ralph_C's DAX in my shed last week to do some measuring for his rear guard protectors, and they both had identicial guards, wheelarch's, scoop, and the best give away was the rear indicator mounting surfaces are not in the same plane verticaly. If you have the latest G-Force body check to see if this has been rectified.
Maybe the reference he makes is that the DAX was flopped off an original, thus the G-Force too.

The Dax has been around for a long time. I have a feeling it came from that original Arntz replica as well.
Over time all the kit manufacturers have tweeked their moulds and body shapes. They have all now evolved into their own interpretations of the original.

I'd agree with Les (Rebel1); beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you have a close look at different makes you will find many differences. Some are minor, some aren't. For example, some kits are very flat across the boot wereas others are quite raised and curve more. There are differences in the length of the rear qtr panel, wheel arches, hood scoops, doors etc etc. IMHO some kits looks right and some not so right. But they're all fibreglass so if you are happy with most of it you can always modify the parts you aren't satisfied with. Most kits are not symmetrical as neither were the originals. But you would need a keen eye or be told where the faults were.
In fact everybody born has an asymmetrical face. If you were to take a photo of your face and split it vertically down the centre and then reverse the images on either side you will have 3 difference faces altogether!
Anbody tried that with a Cobra??
