Default Temporary Paint Job

Hi All,

Like many people building their cars I'll be driving around in primer for some time before getting spending the money on a real paint job on the car.

I was thinking that the car doesn't need to be boring grey primer till the real paint goes on. A light coat of flat black paint on the car can provide the canvas for a bit of artistic fun.

Stevie Wonder could put a decent coat of flat black paint on a car. There's no particular painting skill needed and it hides all the sins on the bodywork. It's a popular option with the Hot Rod and Rat Rod crowd. With a few different coloured spray cans of flat paint and some masking tape I reckon you could have a lot of fun with your temporary paint scheme. And all for only a little money and o bit of creative effort.

After all it's only temporay and if you don't like it a quick sand and it's gone.

I was sitting there thinking of a couple of schemes this evening and quickly drew one up in MS Paint.

I always like the look of meat balls on the race cars and how the stripes intersect them. Bernie has a great looking meat ball scheme on his car. I thought I'd do one with the meat ball offset to one side for something different.

Any one else got some fun ideas for temporary paint jobs?

Eh Bro, i bet if you park it at the train station near you over night, and leave your colour scheme in full spray cans, you could save yourself the bother of thinking up the required artwork and its labor intensive job, and let the local lads help you out.

P.S just remove all the chrome shiny things first or they'll help you with them to

Good thinking.

If I left them a drawing of what I wanted do you reckon they would follow it?

Glad to assist...

Perhaps, we could do it in red and paint yellow signs on it.. I have a great sign design..

Virile marketing. Also I can supply a red and yellow race suit with red race shoes etc...

13 is my lucky number and it's a bit supersticious I guess. I thought a scheme that reflected that would be cool. I love the look of the red on black paint scheme Phil has on his Classsic too.

Any one got any other primer special paint job ideas?

Cheers

Here's another one. You could do this on a plain white gell coat body with a black spray can.

Bernie was running with black spray can stripes on a white gelcoat body. It looked pretty good for a temporary paint job.

Aussie Mike

Mike

Yes, the black and white certainly looked ok on my Cobra. Now the black ball is a great idea. Yes go ahead and paint it...

Looking forward to seeing it.
