Bernie on BTSNAKES SITE

Hi all

Well my Cobra is still over at McDonald's Bros. Racing and I just got off the phone to them.

Looks like there's plenty of work left for me to do...

I left the London Ohio event this morning and we drove a short leg down to mid Ohio.

So far we have travelled just over 3,000 miles - 4800k's - in the GT40. I have learnt to pack only the esssentials but surprisingly there is plenty of room.

The GT40 has performed very well - guess the fact that Hershal has driven it over to London three or four times has helped.

I'm currently in Oxford, Ohio with Hershal - btsnake - and we have been helping Rolf there complete his GT40. Tomorrow we leave for Evansville, Indiana to catch up with Wayne Turpin who runs the Run N Gun. Wayne's son and nephew stayed with us just recently.

From Evansville it will be a straight run back to Phoenix, Arizona to get ready for the Shelby America Auto weekend at Fontana, California.

The London event was really sensational and will be very big next year.

The big difference is the event is low key with street parades, street shows and drag racing down the main street. It is a big fund raiser for Cist. Fibr. and they raised a considerable amount.

Check out the London Ohio site on ALL COBRA TALK There are a few pictures there. I understand there are more to come.

So that what I'm up to for anyone interested..

Look forward to catching up when I'm back home..

Bernie

Hi Bernie,

Your Cobra is being dropped off to my workshop this afternoon. Aranged a flat bed tow truck to pick it up from Mcdonald Bros and deliver it.

Cheers

Les, it is unfortunately no longer a "Paddock Word" as it was taught to me. That and the other big "C" word are definitely as commonplace among the whiskey swilling ladies of our modern era.

cheers.

Aussie Mike

Mike,

Thanks mate. They did not mention that - but that's good.

To busy talking about bringing a Mustang fastback into Australia for them....

You obviously received the transfer.

A few of the guys over in London. Ohio, asked about you, Craig and Scott. Will pass on their best when we catch up. Back on the 11th.

Cheers

Bernie

Yes I did, thanks Bernie.

You could bring a 67-68 Fast Back for me too (My favourite Mustang).

Say Hi to the guys for me. They were all a great bunch of people and showed us no end of hospitality.

Cheers

Hey Mike, if you need anyone to drive it for you, I know where the keys are

With the weather the way it is, I was dying to go for a drive in the last few days.

I just drove it into my shed with the exhaust just blasting out the ends of the header flanges. A Cobra with Zoomie pipes like a top fuel car.

I'll have to put the noise meter on it to see how loud it is. A job for 7:00AM Sunday morning me thinks

Pay back for all the neighbours late night parties

The day before dad took it to be painted, he hadthe pipes off onthe trailer at my house... he started it and gave it a little bit of a rev up.

At night you could see the big flame blasting out of the exhaust... it looked nuts!

I drove it the 20 meters or so from the garage into the workshop last night. It certainly resonates in the workshop, haven't seen the cat for a while either.

Cheers

Hahahaha!

I have seen him, so I know he is alive...

Last I spoke to him he said "I love the 40... if your mum would let me buy one I would"

He is on the right side, just a shame there is no wheel there...

Hold on... maybe they have killed him and are dragging him around "Weekend at Bernies" spec

Todd

I think they have put the 'Weekend at Bernies' on hold for a year, with dad travelling and all

Thanks for the pics! I just looked at all of them!
