Qld Prep and Painters
Here is a question for the Qld'ers. Who is the best prep and paint guy for glass bodies?? I am giving the old DAX a birthday, from the inside out and want to get a re-spray.
There is some rippling in the glass and an old 'average' repair.
Who do you recommend?
Thanks
Cameron

Actually, there are two pro painters in the club.
One is Glen Stewart, contact 07 3869 4167. He has a cob and is out of work at the moment and may do a better job for less just for some income.
The other I'll dig up for you.
Cheers

Thanks Les,
I am in Tokyo airport at the moment, but will definitely give Glen a buzz when I get back.
I don't need the car in a hurry, so may suit all round!
Thanks!

JP's Body Shop at Ormiston near Cleveland.
He's the only guy who'll take on a half respray in acryllic against the other half staying as 2 Pac (Mine) and no one has noticed as yet - Reasonable price too. Less than $1,000 for two quarters!!!
John is his name - have his number if you want it.

Two reasons Cameron....all the pics I had of the car in it's previous incarnation I destroyed some years back.. long story.
and..
I haven't as yet flogged my wifes digital to take some of it's second life.
I must take some tho and put some in.

My GT40 is currently being painted by Fergies Fine Finishes. I only have mobile for principal(George) 0422 056 864. Has shed down at Labrador.
The really great thing about him is his experience with fibreglass. With the amount of body work & mods I required on the GT, I really needed a fibreglass expert. He knows how to treat & stop all those annoying stress cracks, spider cracks & heat cracks that develop.
His rates are great, fantastic to work with and very honest to deal with. And sticks to his quotes, which is rare these days.
This is also the business that flops the bodies currently for Harrison Cobras. And boy have they been pushing out some bodies lately.
He is currently working on my GT40 and also a Cobra. I think he also has another Cobra lined up.

Hey Fellas what are we looking at to paint a cobra? I am nowhere near that stage but it would be great to have a rough estimate. Also any of you good fellas know of a painter in the North Queensland are?
