Hi 302cobra
bassically what ever restraints you use here need to be ADR approved (Australian Design Rules). After many talks with my engineer he told me that this type of harness that i purchased should pass here in SA .Thats why they are in but as you said it isnt that hard to do a quick change if required

Bernie
Yes that is what im hopeing for

Its a bit of a bugger that we cant run Race harnesses, as I want to put them in cobra number 2. But I guess I'll just have to do the quick swap thing!!

It's quite common up here to have both fitted and that's what we have done on the Harrison. Use lap/sash belt for street and harness for racing. Just push the harness down the back of seat and down sides of seat when not in use...more tricky if your harness runs through the top of the seat.

Personally I wouldn't even think about using harness for street...it's just not suited for that sort of driving.

Its mainly for looks I think. Like I said, my mate has harnesses (4 point) and he loves them, and has no problem with them. Its certainly a safe option.

The advantages of harnesses are pretty obvious, but it could very easily be argued that harnesses are not as safe as lap/sash belts for the street. Considering they need proper adjustment and don't allow the body to twist to check blind spots etc.

One of the things of my list of jobs to do, is see about retro fitting a harness and half roll cage to the 40.
