A mate of mine is on the bus to Bendigo and just went past this in Daylesford...

It is the Elfin MS8. First launched about 2 Melbourne motorshows ago and promised Dec 04 delivery, the car just may be here for Dec 05...

One thing though, the car now has a full screen on it - which, without actually seeing, will most likely make the car look a$$.

BTW - judging by the lack of airbagged steering wheel, may be the perfect car for making a case that Cobra's dont have to comply to certain ADR rules...

Hahahaha, it is a Holden/chevy powerplant - Gen3 I think... the Gen 6 didnt fit from memory.

It is supposed to be the Aussie Supercar to kill all others! Yet to see any of the talk and is remarkably similr to Mike Moore's old X7 project... except 250kg heavier...

Whoa that thing was FAST!

There can never be enough CommonDoors on the street to drag and therefore make their owners feel like little people.

Long live the Ford and Especially any Ford with a Cobra badge on da side!

We need to do something with all those old XXXX cans when you have finished with them Les.
I have also read somewhere that Ford are thinking about going back to push rods after the big panic with out dated machinery thinking they better go overhead cam, only to find that they arent any better.

Thumbs up Here's a bit of news trivia....

Just an update on the Extreme Roadster..

Well known Cobra club and Wakefield Park Raceway Nationals participant John Cini is now the owner of X7 Extreme Roadsters.

John apparently recently purchased all the goods from Smithy.

John has had one or two adds in Unique Cars and Just World cars. From memory I think it's a 'Florini' X7 extreme Roadster - 'Florini cars'..

Good luck John with the new venture..

Just a bit of trivia....

Very interesting comparison in the sunday paper between the Pursuit Falcon Ute and the commodore ls2 equivalent. All that technology and the damn ford used 30% more juice on test with no more go then the old chev......Where did they go wrong..... :-)

Dear Tenrocca, I have not been lucky enough to go in a new Ls2 Commondoor however I am lucky enough to currently be able to drive a BA Pursuit ute (5.4 Quad), an AU XR8 (5.0 pushrod aren't they), a 2001 Mustang Cobra (4.6 Quad) and a 2001 5.7 liter SS (Don't ask why). Now this is where it gets tricky, all of em are nice cars however the quad cams blow every other motor I own away in fuel economy and power. The SS is/was so thirsty it was constantly in at the Holden dealer getting worked on trying to find the problem with the fuel consumption until the point they said it was'normal'. We no longer own the SS.

Now time to knock the Ford dealers and all the car magazines. I picked up the Mustang Cobra after we already owned the Pursuit ute and I asked the dealer " so whats faster the ute or the stang"? I got laughed at and was told "there was no comparison". I knew the power to weight ratios of both and knew it was a lot closer then that so I was more then interested in the result. The Mustang was/seemed a little faster then the Pursuit, so much so the Ute had to get Blown in order for the old man to have bigger balls then me.

My point is this: Holdens and Fords are as good as each other! Did I say that? Magazines and peoples opinions differ widely however that's why I love the cars we in particular (cobras I mean) drive. Doesn't matter what motor we have in our Cobras wether it be a Gen 3 or a 302, our cobras are so different (like the clubman) from other cars we don't have to read and listen to Motor magazines and the paid advertisements which they print to know that our Cobras are real cars.

Blair

P.s> Boxhead am I going soft for your Motor?

Hehehe

Blair, I didn't miss it, but, you must be more kind to those amongst us who have been misled by the GMH tall stories.

There was a book written once ..forget the name...it said something like. ...

Forgive them for they know not what they do.

Hey...aint it great to be an Aussie. In the States they argue about BB vs SB. Here, we argue about push rods vs overheads.

I'm still hiding

This is what being in this club is all about - we have a dig at each other yet we all know in the pit of our stomachs that we all have the same agenda in mind (to get our Cobra's going).

I am fairly certain I read the article in the latest Crusin magazine - it was just a little side note on one of the pages.

I will try to find it and scan the article.

Go the mighty dark side tinnie.

Maybe I should camcel my BOXHEAD number plates and get TINNIE

I think they had a Holden guy drivin theFord for the test. He's so used to havin' to wring the chev's neck to get some go, of course consumptions gonna suffer.
