Popular Alice
'the ALICE' was screened tonight for the first time.
You could never buy the national and international exposure that Alice Springs will get from this new Australian television show
Well after the launch of the new Australian drama series based in Alice Springs, Northern Territory tonight I feel there will be a rush of tourism to the red centre.
'the ALICE' will have people pouring into the town now.
For those that did not see the launch it is loosely based on four or five characters including a local Cop, a bar owner, a Doctor and assorted towns people.
The local scenery was very good and the cameras really give viewers an understanding of the red centre.
Starting to sound like a television critic..
I looked for 'Boxhead' in the support cast, but didn't see him.
Perhaps he'll make a cameo appearance later..
Anyway, looks like good television that will see Alice Springs only benefit from the exposure. If it goes overseas as did the other country television show 'McLeods Daughters' it will mean big business for Alice Springs.
I took a look at www.alicesprings.com a moment ago and wonder how many other people did the same...
'the ALICE' has the makings of a hit television series...
Well now I can go and watch the F1 GP...

Can you believe I didnt get to see the show.
The scenery out here is very beautiful - if anyone hasnt visited then you really should.
And what could be better than blasting through the Territory in a open roofed car (Cobra) with no speed limits.
I was told on Friday about another work colleague who drove from Alice to Darwin (1500kl) in 10 hours and 45 minutes.
Come you Cobra people, I am sure we can better this.

I can have the fridge full in no time.
My biggest concern is that a Cobra wont get to most of the really nice places

How about a trip to Alice Springs...
Boxhead,
Would be a good drive. We could grab a hire car there and take a look around.
...may see who is interested. November sometime?
Any thoughts?

November is getting hot and there is a **** load of flys by then.
Best time is Mothers day to Fathers day, anywhere within that time frame.
I have a 4 seater troop carrier and I have a 5 seat Hilux 4x4 here at work so we may get away without a rental - I also can get a rental at a pretty good price too.

I will ask around regarding secure lock up for the cars.
Does anyone have a preferance on accomodation?
We have casino, caravan parks with onsite vans
Accomodation can be arranged with prices rangeing from about $60.00 per night to over $200.00 so let me know what your after regarding that side of things.
I am sure I can arrange secure parking for the cars, so dont feel that this needs to be a deciding factor when it comes to accomodation.
Depending on numbers I do have to vacant rooms with 2 single beds in each room.

Perhaps we southerners could stick the Cobras on a train and arrive en masse for some seriously unrestricted driving. How expensive is the train?

Been to the Alice I think about three times, believe it or not on two occasions the Todd river was flowing and it was not beer just thick brown stuff. Knowing my luck it would probably rain again
