Question 17" Tyres

Hi All
Well i have ordered my halibrands from OZWheels and am after the use of your brains for a good tyre choice .
I Have 17x8 on the front and 17x10 on the bum so i would guess a 245/45 for front and 285/40 for the rear would be ideal .Do any of you guys recomend a tyre brand and anywhere to get them for less than an arm and a leg

Cheers
Paul

Paul,

There's been plenty of threads on tyres here in Australia, but at the end of the day its your choice.

With 16" rims I really struggled to pick up a recognised brand and in the end went for a korean brand Nexen.

I'm convinced that gone are the days with tyres that you pay for what you get. The cheaper brands are good quality tyres these days and $ for $ I think as good as or even better than the "top" brand ones.

Depends what you are looking for. If its road work then choice is plentiful, especially with 17" rims - good luck

Paul,
Check out Hankook tyres. I know a fellow who has just bought a set wheels and tyres for his cobra. The tyres he got where Hankook which were reasonably priced. The tyre dealer told him that he has people with performance vehicles buying the performance tyres.

I used Toyo Proxies T1S, 17/235/45 & 17/275/40. Think by memory they were $260 & $430. Have not driven on them much so not to sure what they are like on the track or in the rain. Nice tread pattern though.

Justbetter should be able to give you a run down on tyres, I think he has used more sets than anyone.
