Default jag diff and rear brakes

Can any one indicate if the brake lines leading to the rear brakes on a jag diff and caliper set up need to have a flexible line from each caliper back to a T fitting on the chassis.

I was under the initial impression that the diff is solidly mounted to my G-Force chassis or is this not correct. Certainly the lower suspension arms are part of the bracketry associated with the diff, so I would have thought these arms have to be able to experience some flexure!

Can anyone set me in the right direction.

I would run a flex just to meke it easier to get the caliper off for servicing. If you need to replace a disc it would be nice to just swing the caliper out of the way and not have to worry about bleeding the system when your done.

Stephen, the center of a jag diff is solidly mounted on the G-force. The brake calipers are mounted to the diff center and as such don't move with the lower suspension arms.

You can use hard lines just like the jag but as Mike says, it is best to use flex as you can then clamp them out of harms way a lot easier.

There is however, a hard line that connects the two halves of each caliper...make sure this line isn't crimped or been damaged.

Thanks guys.

I thought the diff was solidly mounted but have been talking with a work mate who's an ex-mechanic and he put the idea in my head that there may be some form of vibration control ie movement capability associated with these diffs.

But your both correct from the practical point of view of being able to manipulate the parts post build. I look at the bleed screws now and wonder how much swearing will happen when I first have to bleed the system!

Was planning to run adr compliant braided lines to the front for better pedal feel. I presume this should also be the way to go for the rears as well?

Yep...It's sure is a bugga to bleed the back brakes.

Here is a hint. Run an adr compliant flex line from where the bleed screw is on the caliper to your outside rails or somewhere handy.

Makes it much easier to bleed.
