seat options
G'day yet again
Keen to find out what options in seat choices are out there.
Have seen one or two posts that mainly talked on aftermarket seats.
Am after adjustable seat style, me and the cheese and kisses have significantly different seating needs, ie long legs short arms and vicki verka, though I hope she will need to re-adjust the seat more often than I.
Wouldn't mind a race style seat ie significant side support but suspect these preclude adjustability.
Had a trimmer suggest a cobra he had trimmed had used cut down suzuki gti seats some years ago.
What's out there that has good support, is adjustable and doesn't cost the earth?
Ciao
PS whose was the cobra at the last club meeting with those lovely blue trimmed seats, looked tremendous though I didn't spend enough time checking them out further just left drool marks instead - sorry!

I reckon those blue seats would belong to Leeroy, they look great and feel even better - I believe he lives quite close to you too....

Moving seats
I have the same problem, with different length people driving my car.
I used the revolution race gear classic seat and runners.
I had the seats reworked so that i could get full travel on the runners.
They are a little uncomfortable and I will get some extra padding hear and there and they should be OK.
Thanks
Phil

Get that drool off my seats !!
Stephen
as Plums said I think they would be mine. I got them made by SAAS in Mulgrave and had them covered by Blackmans in Moorabbin. Came out pretty XXy but are very nicely finished and are comfy too. Had to shoehorn Plums in and out though Sorry Plums just kidding. Stephen PM me if you like and as Plums said I am close (Beaumaris) so would enjoy to come down & see your progress some time.
Plums relocated the air intake sensor other day, really happy with the way its going and is pleaseure to drive.

If you are looking for factory seats, you have to investigate cars with the smallest cockpits.
MX5 seats fit well. We use them in the black Harrison. I think about half a dozen people have fitted them now to various kits - Harrison, DRB, CR etc. They also run speakers in the headrest, well on most seats anyway.
RX7 seats are great looking seats, have harness holes, but a little wider, so snug fit.
Factory seats are the cheapest way to go and when you eventually get it cockpit trimmed, they come up looking great.
For MX5 seats check jap importers, most of seats have come from this source. Also a good bet is to contact MX5 clubs.

The seats weren't the problem, it was your short seat belts..... The seats are very nice though
Glad to hear it's going well... How does it compare to the "other tune" on your crisp test mornings???

Mine are adjustable and very comfortable. I believe they are out of an Acura. You might call Lone Star and ask what Acura they are out of. I did not build my car or I would know myself.

let me now whose seats you are using and if you can provide an email contact address that would be great.
Leeroy
contact number is 0400 934 027 or email at low.benholm@optusnet.com.au, would be keen to have a close look at your car anyway with camera in hand for ideas. Cheers
Many thanks all.

Yes I got the link and had a look. Landed in Oz i suspect they will be too expensive but will keep looking.
Craig
What do you mean by factory seats and where do i need to look to get some vision of these?
Cheers
