Default Springs and Shocks

Hello to all. After months of drooling over everyone's carsI have finally taken the plunge and have just had my partially completed kit sent to Darwin. Not many up here.

The chassis was at some stage marketed as King Cobra (Brisbane), running Ford XF suspension with Cortina wishbones, Ford 9' diff.

I will post some photos of the chassis which looks great.

Problem is, I can't find any advice on how to work out what coils and shocks to run. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Hogster, Darwin:

Welcome along Neighbour.
I am down below the Berimah line, at Alice Springs.

The kit you purchased was it new or did you buy it second hand (as you say it is partially completed)?

I think DeType still exist and are selling kits, there are acouple of them that are on this site occasionally.
You will probably get a reply from one of the Queensland mob with help as I think most of that type of car are in QLD.

Good luck with it all and dont forget the pics.

Hi Hogster,
My knowledge of working out spring rates etc is pretty limited, but someone on this forum pointed me towards this website which helps demystify it..... Well at least a little anyway...

Default Thanks Boxhead/Luke

Thanks for the advice and welcome, I you guys will be driving in cool weather clothing at the moment.

The confusion I have is that I am not really sure of the cars origins, I bought from a guy who bought from a guy that used to work for De Type or something. Other than that I have seen an old photocopied King Cobras flyer, and the chassis is identical.

Part of the fun I guess.

Thanks again guys, I'll look at the website link.
