G'day there everyone, well it has been along time since I have made any comments about my car and how it is going - here is my chance to catch up.
As most of you know I have just recently bought a new house, My wife and I moved in over the Easter weekend and have just about settle in.
The new house has way too much room for the 2 of us but atleast the dogs are happy.
With the size of our new house I have a load of storage space to hide bits and pieces and pack them away safely.
Now to the car, Again not much has been done on this side of things as I have been busy moving house and trying to sell my old house.
It now lives in its new big shed which I have almost got all the extra stuff out from and have seperated the body from the chassis.
Here is a pic before I backed it into the shed.
As you can see the seats and the screen are all in and mounted up, I am happy with the seating position as it is nice and low.
Here is a pic with the car sitting in its new home (complete with house furniture)
The shed is approx 6 metres by 12 metres so although not as big as I would eventually like it is alot bigger than the 3 metre by 6 metres I was in.
As can also be seen the Magic Fridge now lives inside and out from the rain.
Just to show that I have my prioritys right here is a pic of the Magic Contents.
Lastly here is a pic showing the body ready to lift off and sit on the body buck / dolly that I made up.
I havent taken any more pics yet as the boys and I decided to christen the magic Fridge and celebrate its new home.
I went to fit the tailshaft I had made before Christmas only to discover that the yoke was way too large, I contacted the supplier and they said they fitted a turbo 400 yoke (as recomended in there book) So the good news is they are going to fix it for free and even wanted to cover the freight costs, (my boss has a new dealership in Adelaide and is close to the tailshaft supplier so I told them not to worry about freight) So I was very pleased with there level of service.
I will run my fuel lines, Carbon Canister lines and battery cables down the tunnel.
I was at a work colleagues 30th birthday on Saturday night only to discover that one of the guys that helped lift the body off lives nearby and is a metal fabricator by trade and he has alot of equipment at home and is dead keen to help with the Cobra, He says he has a bender and cutter, so he will make the ducting in the nose, He hasnt got an alloy welder but can cut the sheet out to make a fuel tank and can get the tank welded up by a friend in town.
I have been talking to an auto electrician friend and although he is very busy he is about to employ another auto electrician and once he is confident the new guy is working out he will get my body into his shed and finish my wiring.
I am still planing on making a low aero screen (similar to Pat Buckleys) for rego so no wipers or demister for me.
If it is too uncomfortable to drive I will slide in the full sized screen.
