Default Not a Cobra, but still beautiful - Jaguar XJ13 Replica

Look what finally turned up to our club meeting...Jaguar XJ13 replica.

Designed and built by Denis R Bedford(DRB). Even after selling the DRB business, I don't think this guy knows how to retire...or maybe he does.

This particular example is owned by Digby & Gwen.

More photos in my gallery. Just didn't want to swamp those with slower connections...

Looks like Sports Car Factory in the US are selling it www.sportscarfactory.com

If you want to see what else Denis is up to, check out his website: www.copycatcars.com

Beautiful car . . . great photos. One of my favorites, though they should have gone with BRG instead of red. Thanks for sharing!

Craig,

Very nice indeed - very similar to the original.

Is Denis likely to push the car here?

I presume the build cost would be similar to a GT40???

What ever happened to the Cobra's for Sale on his website - obviously all sold.

Fully assembled body\chassis about $22K. Needs paint and 'final assembly' of things like windows, headlight covers, etc, which are included. This allows for painting before final assembly. Add engine\trans.

A Jag V-12 engine isn't hard to come by. Buy an old XJS or XJ-12. 327 cid for V12, around 300 horse. Trans???

Wow! If they had made this when I did the Lister a couple of years ago I think I would have gone for this instead. At that time there was another company doing this car but it was significantly more $. It may haver been aluminium however. 500 HP is very attainable for the Jag V12 (albeit not cheap) and just think about the sound of that V12!

Nice car but it looks somehow different from the originals. Is it just because he left out all the rivets or is there something else?
