Thanks Leeroy,
Its the standard VL commodore power steering rack, because I using the Holden V8 I used standard VN pump and brackets. I dont know pump is used on an LS1 but I wouldn't think that it would need much modification to make it fit. steve |
looks great - good stuff
:) Which engineer did you use and were they reasonable? Thanks in advance |
Thanks Nassty,
Used Paul Bottomley from APS in Heidelberg, had my disputes with him but generally he was fair and reasonable. Interestingly I went and saw him on Friday to show him the finished car. They have just taken over from Roaring forties. Would love to build a GT40 but would have to sell the Cobra. Must keep playing lotto. steve |
Here is a pic off my power steering.
Still undecided on what pump to use. Ben http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...002_Small_.jpg |
Just use a Gen 3 pump
|
Craig,
Gen III pump is the obvious choice, but if I use one then I have to be careful where to relocate the alternator. Is your alternator on the original brackets, and if so have you notched the chassis? Ben |
Hi Beejay
No notching here, my chassis was the LS1 Guinea pig I had to relocate mine but I can still just bolt in the power steering pump http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...1/PB130012.jpg cheers |
Can you fit one more thing in that engine compartment?:p
Looks great. Herkypilot |
