Red face Brake calipers

I think I have just made my first of many costly mistakes.
I have started cleaning up the Brembo 4 pot calipers, to replace all the bits with the brake kits.
I have just read that you shouldn't split the calipers, because the bolts won't torque up correctly again. Too late, I split one of them on the weekend thinking it was the right thing to do to get to the pistons better.
Do I now need to get a fully reconn'd caliper now I have split it?
Any advise on where I go from here would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a Furfy to me. I've stripped heaps of Motorcycle calipers for rebuild and most of them split down the middle. Never had problems with them going back together again.

The only problem you may have is damaging the O-rings that seal between the two halves but they are easy to replace if you do. Just bolt them back together. They'll be OK.

I agree with Mike.

Jaguar say you can't split their calipers but every-one does.
