I booked at the Post House on Sunday - all pre-booked rooms were gone, but they still had some (non-pre-booked) rooms left...
Good luck....

Thanks Ralph
When I rang last week they said they had no rooms left, typical young person on reception it was probably to hard for them to look.
Anyhow I have decided to give the Nationals a miss this year I just have to much going on around that weekend but I still might drive down for one day as a spectator

Hi guy's it is not by choice but by circumstance
I have a lot of business and family commitments between now and the end of October which in reality leaves me very little time to get the Cobra back to gether (but still not finished) and I guess the attempt at booking accommodation was the icing on the cake..
I have been doing some serious changes to my car and would prefer to debug it at an eastern creek open day.
To give you guys an idea of the changes that are in progress or (now that I have a bit more time) will be completed by the end of the year:
1. New custom H/D M12 6 speed gearbox
2. 408 stroker (higgins Heads) running 10psi boost (should be finished for Xmas)
3. New inter-cooler @ ALU radiator
4. Power steering
5. New extractors and side pipes
6. New front shocks, springs all round and front sway bar
7. New roll bar with leg that drops into passengers foot well
8. Racing harnesses
9. Ford territory rear brakes (thanks Phil M)
10. And finally I will finish the interior and boot
I also recently employed a metal fabricator that set up (from a basic shell) a couple of the commodores that ran in the Konica series.
He made or installed nearly everything from the roll cages to the pedal boxes and most stuff in between so I have given him the important job of fabricating tubular front and rear "A" arms rose jointed of course. I will be making jigs when it is all sorted but that will be another thread in a few months.
During the exercise of designing the "A" arms I have a good friend who has a few years of racing under his belt in quite a few categories and he has volunteered his experience, workshop and steering alignment equipment to get to the bottom of the CR handling woes.
I will keep you all posted.
Cheers

I considered going to factory DRB spherical jointed(rose jointed) front arms on my GT40. Went for a test ride in a GT40 with spherical front arms and quickly decided that I needed the compliance that urethane arms give. Spherical front arms are great for a track only car, but not for a vehicle that is road driven. Note that all DRB GT40's run spherical jointed rear arms. Mind you there isn't a lot of compliance in a GT40 anyway...

Holy moley!
That is going to be unbelievable.
Craig, are your side pipes still OK? One of us Ls1 guys might be interested.
I am sure that several of the guys will be interested in the tubular suspension. Several of us have discussed it before. Hopefully Paul will jump in and tell you what suspension mods are required on the Classic Revival - he already has some good advice.
Mando,
Thanks for the heads up. I am booked at theTrappers also.

Yes Craig. please do keep us all informed on the tubular control arms.
One thing I plan on doing after the car is registered is to make some tubular rear arms, there is a 5hitload of unsprung weight back there, with those damn F,F,F, (F*%k) I cant say it, Blue oval bits out back.

Hi Craig,
are you planning to create new mounting points for the rear A arms or keep the existing ones?
Have you worked out what type of shocker youre going to use?
Regards.

Mando
I will keep the same mounting points and will see how the shock goes but in the end it will depend on how the geometry looks
Beejay
The side pipes are OK but they do have a few issues that could be fixed.
