Interesting Engine Donor
Hi All,
Just spotted this whilst browsing: Aston Martin Lagonda
Webber Marrelli injected Quad Cam 5.3L V8 making 300HP in factory trim (with plenty of tuning potential).
The car itself looks worse than the women in the test department of the ugly stick factory. So why not slip that glorious engine into a car more deserving of it.
Flog the rest of the parts off to the Lagonda enthusiasts and recoup a chunk of your money.
Cheers

Mike, I looked at the pics of that model, and can only say that you are WAY too kind in your assessment. WOW!
Cheers!

As Aston Martin is now wholely owned by Ford, it would definately be the right thing to do!

From the front that car sort of looks like Lady Penelope's Roller ride from Thunderbirds!!
But Mike you are spot on with both descriptions, that of the car's ugliness and the beauty within the engine bay.
Wouldn't want to try and buy spares for the motor though, would need a trailer to carry the dosh needed to pay for parts I reckon.

Mike don't be daunted, you can just machine up any part you need..
Now where does it fit in the queue..
After the Cobra, the big block Street Rod, the new bike or the re build on mine and Garretts cars..
After reading the add with the car I wonder if the guy really wants to sell it - he sure tells it warts and all..
And I was just looking at the Jaguar XJ13 kit...

I think you'd probably need to look like Parker to get away with driving one.

I'm just dreaming Bernie. An activity that I'm pretty good at now after many years of practice.

It's a laundry powder!
Army wives put a box of FAB up on the laundry window sill to warn their lover that the old man is back in the house (Fu***ng As**ole's Back). Of course they put OMO on the sill to signify that the "Old Man's Out"....
Or so I heard

You guys reckon the outside is ugly, where I did my apprenticeship we had a customer who owned one of these things.
It was uglier inside - electric digital dash that looked more at home on a commodore 64 computor (& I think it was all Lucas stuff) My mind cringes at the thought.

Bucket of rust, but expensive?.
.while working at a jag joint some time ago, one of those rocket up and the owner asked for the front brakes to rebuild, all that was required was a set of, discs, calliper pistons, seals, wheel bearings.
And all the parts were genuine Austin martin, well they said not a problem, they went to place the order for the parts, and they sent back the total price on the those said items to be..........$20,000.00AU, now its been a few years since this happened, but the figure always stayed in my mine.
Now if you were to wreck a car, I wonder what the price would be on eBay if you were to break all the items down.
This doesn’t sound so bad when they would charge some pore sole over $6000 for an a/c unit into an mk1 jag, and over $60,000+ for a cheep resto on an xj6 ser3

Wow! I was thinking, "Come on! How ugly can a car be?" Then I clicked on the link on the first post. Holy Sheet! That thing is about as ugly as a car can be!

try theses two, the brighter one, is the one out of a mustang (plain) and the other is out of a XJ6 V12 turned into a quad cammer, the work i saw done a few years back was done by a bloke in Caulfield, he would take a std V12 jag engine, buy 2, 4.1 Cyl heads, cut one of the up to enable It to go on the other side, then you make 4 cams to suit, timing chain, inlet and you use 2 ECU’s out of a vl commodore.
It will make around 450-500HP.
I’ve seen one in Dandenong were he was going to put it into a 32 ford tourer, with a custom supercharger. Not bad. Tried it with a sdt jag in a cobra, but the engine was to long, then tried to build an XJ13 using the same engine, but alas it dint come to fruition.
But see that Bedford has done one. O well

Yes Dennis has completed a build of the XJ13 up in QLD. I'm not sure who's kit it was? I think there is a photo of it under a boat at a QLD lunch run . Will see if I can find it. On the QLD. site somewhere...
I saw a kit in Cal. at Knotts... and was very impressed with all the rivet work on the body - very WWII aircraft in British race green. Yellow steel rims etc...
