Default Leybourn 2006

Hi all. I've just returned from a day at Leybourn and thought I'd post a quick thread to say it was quite a good day. 13 hours day and 650 K's later! Competition Cobras included Ive Stocks and Peter McCormack as well as Peter Ransome in his GT40. I also saw a Red Robnell Roadster and another DRB (?) sitting in the infield show and shine area. The Robnell had a carbied 351 in it. Interesting! Anyone know who's these 2 cars where. They didn't look familiar to me.

Anyway the racing was non stop and very entertaining with the Kanga V8 Supercar keeping the spectators entertained. No major incidents really except for a few hay bail kisses etc etc. The dominat car was as usual the Skelta but there were a few others HOT on his heels.

The track is very basic and as it says it really is a "sprint" with a few corners... Would be great to see a few more non regular Cobra racers out there next year.. My car will be ready and all things being equal I plan on joining the crew.

The other regular racers - John(Cobra), Peter(Cobra), Warren(Cobra), Warwick/Ron(Cobra), GregQ(GT40), GregM(GT40), Paul(GT40) etc have never really shown any interest in Leyburn.

Maybe between Sat Arvo Sprints, Wed Arvo Sprints, Top Gear, AROCA, A Series, Muscle Car Shootout, Drags...they have enough racing. Oh and not to forget Nationals & Shelby Fest,

Same goes with Pittsworth Sprints & Noosa Hill Climb...only a slight interest.

Good to see some guys out there, especially Peter in his factory demo DRB.

I would have loved to have gone and had a look, but busy working all weekend. Well sort of.

Any photos?

Yeah, pretty cool having Digby and his cars in the club. I think the bowdens own his XU1, I thought we saw it at their property. Saw so many cars now, I could be getting confused.

2006 Results have not been posted on the web site yet.
