Now...about those heated seats...
Well, sorry I haven't been online for a long time, but a new job is keeping me busy 7 days a week. The cobra now sits covered in dust in the garage, and longs to have it's legs stretched. However, I did manage to have the seats recovered and while i was at it I had the electric seat warmers installed. I have had a few posts from members asking me for my opinions on the seats. Let's put it this way... up until this moment, I have always thought the best feeling I ever had was a quick handjob I got from Karen Moregold behind the bicycle shed when I was in 7th grade. This is no longer the case as I got to try the seats out this morning and boy, are they good. Very toasty, and somehow, strangely arousing.... Anyhow, highly recommend them, especially for the boys down south. I was hoping to catch up at the breakfast this week, but the job just won't spare me the time, so might have to be next month hopefully, although next year looks more likely.
Have a great one
Dave

More detail please
Hi,
I am about to get my cobra seats upholstered and I have also been thinking about getting putting in heat pads. Heated seats came with my current Alfa, so I know how good they feel!
Where did you get them and what did they cost?
Thanks
Ross

www.cobraheat.com
imported from US. Arrived very quicky, excellent quality, a breeze to fit and only cost me $250 (I think, or $200).
Ignore all these comments from everyone else. It's easy for them to keep warm 'cause they have an extra layer of fat on their bums.
It's good for keeping the girls warm until we get 'em home.

Heated seats
Dave,
You live in Queensland "Beautiful one day Perfect the next" so they claim. Why would you need heated seats
Cheers,
Bryan

I'm with you Brian.
What I find is that I need ice packs not heaters.
Even now I have to have a towel at hand when parked up at the local hostelry

Can a cobra have too many creature comforts? I used to sweat like a dog in summer with the leather seats, hence had them changed to cloth. Next thing will be air conditioning I think, but I'm trying to get down to the breakfast at the Cove first so I can check out a couple of instalation from other owners.

Don't know of any old DRB's up here with air con.
Be definitely worth talking to Peter Ransom(owner DRB). He comes to the club meetings.
Also might be worth talking to Warwick Harrison. He will do air conditioning in his cars and I saw the air con install for the Daytona. He is also very familiar with DRB's, so should be able to tell you what it would possibly involve. Warwick also comes to every Club meeting.

Is anyone using the seat heating units on both the seat and back? Is it necessary, or is just putting it on the seat keep you warm enough? Where can I purchase a set?

I have them fitted and can say that heated seats are crap.
You will no longer freeze on cold morning/evening drives.
If you have a sore back you will no longer be able to whine because it will feel better.
And at the Nationals, when it is blowing a gale and trying to rain, you will have to just sit in your car feeling warm and smug knowing that your mates are freezing.
No idea of why anyone would want them...
BTW you want both the seat and back

Steve, they are all over ebay !
Personally that's the way I'm going, as putting a heater in roadster is a bit like having an ashtray on a motorbike ! It will work, but.....
That aside, you wont have to plumb the heater etc, so less work and less holes in the firewall, which can't be a bad thing.

Cloth seats. heated seats, A/C, Jesus, what is this World coming to?
If you want a Cobra, get a Cobra, and suffer, that's part of the allure. If you want to drive an Escalade, go buy one.

My car makes enough heat on its own. I drive it in 40 degree weather and it is a cozy 60 degrees in the cabin

I bought a couple of sets from this ebay seller: wukexue2010 | eBay
Price was great. Quality seems fine and the postage was fast. I bought enough kits for 4 seats ( I want to fit them to the ute too) and it was $160 all up including postage. Bargain.
Cheers
