Not the most atractive design I've seen. The collector looks pretty ordinary.
Not sure how he can claim they are ADR approved?
Cheers

I can see it now...
Police Officer: "...you appear to be running side exhausts..."
Craig: "Officer, these side exhausts are legal, I bought them off ebay and the guy said they were ADR approved."
Police Officer: [doubled over because he is laughing so hard]

Re: ADR for pipes
Sorry to put a damper on the jocularity but I suggest you all reread all the text of the add.

Why, he mentions he has ADR compliant side pipes available. I would like to see that paperwork.
More than likely he might have bundled in some cats and made them quiet enough to pass the required sound levels. I don't think any regulatory body actually will approve side pipes.
If side pipes could be made legal these days, I reckon Superformance would have done it. They have a ADR compliant 347 stroker, now that's dedication. And a lot of other features on their cars that the rest of us cannot get approved.

This is just a general observation...
But isn't it impossible to have an ADR compliant generic exhaust system for a Cobra.
From what I understand, to get ADR compliance, involves the total package - engine, intake system and exhaust system. The whole package is ADR complianced. If any part of the package is changed, it is no longer ADR complianced...unless that change has been specifically re-ADR tested with rest of the package.
So ADR compliant aftermarket exhausts for Cobra would be near impossible as everyone uses different engine/intake combinations.
But ADR compliant aftermarket exhaust for Falcon XR6, is quite doable as the base vehicles are all the same. Just add the exhaust changes, get it re-tested and voila, you have an ADR complianced exhaust any XR6 owner can use.
So when Superformance got 347 stroker ADR complianced, the ADR compliance would only be valid if the engine configuration, intake & exhaust system were identical to the complianced setup.
ADR compliance isn't just getting emmissions to standard, but would also cover noise.
It's a lot simpler when it comes to lights etc and ADR compliancing. But hey, we just use parts off production vehicles as we already know they have ADR compliance.
I'm no expert on this and could be looking at this the wrong way. Any comments?

I'm confused!
Umm, I'm confused...
To quote "Side Pipes On Ebay That Do Work???????, Well Im The Guy Who Built Them, And As For Adr Thay Pass, I Have Built Over Ten Of Them Over The Past Ten Years Or So, And You Are Correct About The Adr For The Left Hand Side Being Allowed, But Now Its Straight Out The Back. The Pipes I Build Have Cats And Co2 Sencor Mountings. The System Goes Back, Under The Chassis And Over The Rear Axle And Out The Back. So Thay Pass[/i]
How can they be ADR side pipes if they run out the back??? What am I missing??

Legal side pipes.
I will jump to davids defence here he is correct in saying that you can get a cobra registered with the exhaust flowing down the side of the car and then back under and out the back i did it with a well know turbo charged cobra.
It passed rego the only conditions put on by the engineer was noise and heat sheilds where they ran down the side of the cobra .
They were in a sence not side pipe but just a different way to get it out the back . Helps a heap with ground clearance.
needless to say that for some strange reason the back half of the exhaust system rusted and fell off . It sounded so good i never replaced the back half

Oz, I've seen this happen, must be the sorta rust we get here in the tropics.
I've even seen that "rust" completely destroy 316 stainless tube.

Welcome to the forum venom0427
Don't get disheartened, this place is a bit like a lot of car blokes chatting at the pub. We all speak our mind as we are all fairly familiar and comfortable with each other. This can be a bit of a shock to a new member but don't worry just jump in boots and all.
If you are after pin drive wheel adaptors, I got mine from CTC down in Waragul Vic. They are the Australian Superformance agents. Alternatively you could try Vintage Wheels in the US (They advertise on here) one of our aussie crew on here brought over a set along with the wheels and got a ripper deal. You could also try Trigo in the US who I believe used to supply Superformance.
Cheers
