Kenmer Engineering?
Hi guys,
Have been doing the rounds looking at the Victorian kit manufacturers, been to Python and Laurie to have a look, and have noticed in the "Unique Cars" magazine, there is an advertiser at the back of the mag called Kenmer Engineering out in Noble Park.
The search on this forum returned a couple of threads and mentioned Martin Govett, but makes no reference to the kits he makes, ie: chassis/body shape, etc.
Has anyone by chance got one of these cars, or know any background on them to be able to give some sort of opinion?
Thanks,
Craig.

A more helpful and practical fellow you will struggle to find.
Martin has his own engineering machine shop so he can create whatever you desire.
I don't own one of his kits but having looked at them and talked about what he is doing with them on numerous occassions, I think they are very practically and thoughtfully designed. The chassis can even accomodate one of those big boss motors I believe without any problems.
......sorry, what was that Martin....oh yer he is even trying to develop a web page! But no this is not a paid endorsement - just my feelings and experiences from pestering Martin for some months now during my build!!
Hope this helps Craig.
Cheers
Steve

Marty is a good bloke, very honest and an excellent engineer.
He has done heaps of work for me over the years and has never let me down.
He has one of the strongest chassis around with all steal inners.
His body is an Arntz/ Butler style (same as Python).
Highly recommended.
Jason.

Dave, Seriously Dude. You've said your piece, told your story. This post is about a Kenmer Engineering query not RC.
One of the reasons Marty is so highly respected among the cobra club is his ability to read comments like the one above and not jump in a start a sh1t fight.
I should clarify my last post.
Although Marty’s first car was an Arntz style cobra body from RC built on his own chassis.
The cars he is manufacturing under Kenmer Engineering are DAX bodied.
If anyone is interested Marty has in his workshop at the moment.
1 RC Sports Car Cobra
1 RMC
1 RCM (LB)
And his Kenmer DAX
He's happy to line them up so you can see the difference in each of them.

Ive only spoken to Martin a couple of times over the phone and Reptyl is right, he is very helpful and more important he knows what he is talking about without mixing it with bull$hit.
Regards.

Marty is a awesome bloke. He takes pride in what he builds and his cobras look absolutely beautiful and when I'm old enough and can afford one I'm going to get one off him.

Willow,
Get yourself a copy of Issue 3 of Kustom Kitcar Magazine. You'll find a great article relating to Martin Govett and Kenmer Cobra Kits on pages 56 and 57. They look a great build for mine.

willow,
Perhaps a visit to the source. But not this weekend as I think he will be at Wakefield Park Raceway .
Wakefield Park at Goulbourn New South Wales is about 8 - 9 hours from Melbourne and well worth the drive to see over 100 cars. And various manufactuerers there and various kits and possibly originals there.
