I had a build manual but gave it to another Evans builder years ago
and for what it is worth, it was pretty useless.
Paul Wooley died last wek so no use to you either.
Email me on what you have and where it is at build wise and I will see if I can help you out.

Hi Busta,

I have a completed Evans which I bought 12 months ago. I am unfortunately in Victoria which not exactly around the corner. (even for you guys in the NT) I have the build manual its pretty basic but may be of some use. I also have a list of all the bits the bloke who built it purchased. This might be handy to give you some ideas of what he used. Also not sure if you know Classic Glass Cars have a very similar if not the same chassis. I believe Paul Wooley worked for them for sometime as well.

I have done a bit of tinkering around with mine so I may be able to give you some advice. I am more than happy to take pics of detailed bits if you need. Send me a PM with your email and I can scan the manual and other documentation I have.

Cheers

Andrew

Isn't Ringwood part of Melbourne?
You guys should be neighbours!

Default Evans kit

Hi Andrew

I am in Ringwood
It would be great if you could scan and send the manual and specs
I believe mine is a Evans kit with a Paul Woodley chassis and jag running gear
This is based on the paper work that I have which is the original purcase list

My email is Malcolm.spears@aecom.com

Thanks for the help

Mal S

Hi Malcolm
Have a look at the front left hand shock tower. Up high and on the outside one of the plates has an indent. On an Evans chassis it will have an identification number hand stamped on it. On mine, for example, it has stamped "E002".
The late Paul Wooley told me this about ten years ago.
It's possible Mr Evans copied that process from Mr Wooley.

When I applied for a permit to build my version of a Cobra replica from the Motor Vehicle Registry Technical Advisory Committee they did not recognize that number.

Hope this helps you a bit.

Cheers
Dave
