Post Evans Kit

Hello, I have recently purchased a Cobra manufactured by Evans Kit Cars in South Australia. I purchased it as a rolling chassis. As far as I can tell Evans Kit Cars is no longer in existence. Is there anyone who owns one of these or has any knowledge of the kit.

Default Evan's kits

Hi there busta,
just letting you know that evan's kits closed down about five years , not exact on it though. he was in partnership with paul wooley long time ago as W.E sports cars. Paul still play's with these kits under the name ac ( adelaide cars ) which is in Shiedow park in Adelaide. I had the same problem with chassis and no body, paul help me out with a body this year back in Jan.

Busta,
Hi and welcome Busta, you will be able to find out just about all you need to know here.

BJ's Snake has an Evans kit, which he got rego'ed last year and just finished painting. He will be able to fill you in on the pain you are about to suffer.

Hi Busta
First thing I suggest is to take your bank manager out to lunch and get to know him really well. Seriously no problems with the chassis side of things but alot of issues with the body I found with my particular kit.
What part of the country are you in,if close by feel free to drop in and discuss the build process or ring me on 0412 731803. The finished product turned out great and hopefully your kit won't give the head aches that seemed to crop up with mine.

A guy a few streets away has/had an Evans kit. I'll chase him up to see what stage he is at and have him make contact if he still has it.

The last time I saw the car he had completed a lot of work on it....

Welcome along Busta.

There are 3 Cobra's in Alice springs (inc mine) and 1 of the others is a Paul Wooley kit.
The fella built it himself and has only just registered it last year, he did the rego in Sth Aust and managed to get it registered with a carbie fed 302 (ford 302 in a comercial japanese vehicle)
I dont see him often and I will be interstate for the next 2.5 weeks so I cant even look for him until I return.

Next time i'm in Mt Gambier we will have to catch up. Have to go now i'll talk to you later.

Yes there is a finished red Cobra out Glencoe way. I've seent the owner in town here once or twice, but he is not really that interested in being involved with other car enthusiasts. Just brought it because he liked the look of it..

Not a bad idea or reason..

Default Puchased and Evans Kit recently looking for info to build

Hi all

I recently purchased what appears to be an Evans Kit produced in 1991 from Classic Glass Cars. Its a rolling kit with body and only a part build. This is the 3 rd time its been sold with the second owner installing the wheels and suspension.
I am looking to see if there is a set of build instructions that are available? or if Paul Wooley is still around? There are a number of these out there.

Mine still has a long way to go.
