Let's make it a Queensland double.
Wishing the Queensland contingent all the best this weekend at the Nationals. Whitey, Cam, Warwick, El Presidente --- give 'em heaps!
It will be a quiet gathering (or a less raucous one) at Sanctuary Cove this Sunday without Warren revving everybody up, but we'll be thinking of you all. Keep it smooth fast and safe.
AND --- GO THE BRONCOS !!!
Go the Queenslanders !!!

Craig, it was a double. My brother John took out King Cobra, with buggered clutch and all.
I think nearly everyone made serious improvements on their times from last year.
QLDers brought back a swag of trophies, but boy, it was a lot tougher and closer than the results suggest. Every trophy was hard fought.
The biggest story from the Nationals was Yve's 1:11 in the Sprints. This girl can seriously compete against the boys. Just goes to show that virtually stock 5lt engines are competitive when set up right and driven right. Give Yve a bit more HP and things would get rather interesting(embarrassing) for the boys.
The quality of cars on display at the show & shine was amazing. After walking around I reckon there were at least a dozen Cobra's capable of taking out the show, glad I wasn't a judge. Although I did note our old Cobra(9 years old in fact) took out 4th place in the show& shine. I hear from the new owner(Brett Hughes), a rebuild is on the cards now, well overdue in my books, will be great to see that old car in her glory again.

Great work Yve.
Ever since I saw you come out of the "keyhole" at the Gatton sprints (all those years ago) the Cobra all sideways, power on, jump the gutter, sail down the foot-path past the hayshed, back on track.... I knew you were destined for greatness. Chris was under the car later checking for dinted rims and bent steering arm, but ....details, details.
After your performance at the Nationals I hear the PKV Champ car team is looking for a true-blue Queensland sheila to replace that pommy Katherine Legge who totalled their Lola Cosworth at Road America. Are you up for 750 hp around the streets of Surfers in two weeks? Local knowledge ...you know the track... you'll only have to drive a little bit faster than you usually do anyway....easy !
Will Power is entered too so you'll make it a Queensland double.
