2006 Nationals
I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread about the Nationals, hopefully the others can post plenty of pics. My camera died.
It was a great event. Got to catch up with Phil N and Karen, Phil N, Churchy and Pete, Paul Trefry, Leeroy, Gav, Mando, Craig W and others.
Well done to Karen with two trophies on the first day. I think that the Mizzi Classic revival will be a monster with another season under the belt.
When I got home today I started back on the car again -all hyped up!
Here is a pic of Tenrocca in Leeroy's car.

Did anybody see this Lola on the track. Should have been quick with the LS1 in the back.

Should have seen the smile after I got back (and it had nothing to do with the unfortunate belt failure!! - smart arses)
I dont think the lola was that quick actually - i could be wrong but I thought it was mid field?
Dave porters award winning classic revival - really different:
Phil giving Karen some driving advice
Daytona:
Phil "P - diddy" Neill and Richard Furguson waitin (There was a lot of that!):

Smile from ear to ear.
What a fantasic weekend!
Very pleased with karens performance, even though I nearly had a heart attack when she spun off doing 210k (so she says) down the straight.
New engine is working fine but still some tweaking needed on the suspension.
Congratulations to Dave P the accolade was fitting and deserved.
Now, to save some face! and please guys can you help me hear, the car developed a charging problem and the car was dropping voltage and when it was my turn for the sprints the car ran out of power and the engine was running poorly and eventually cut out.
I only got 1 run and the car was not performing well, let me say that unofficially in practice after the sprints I was a bit quicker than the 1.15.
Can we do it again next week end.
Phil

Great, fantastic, brilliant ..... English needs more superlatives.......
Had a grin all the way home yesterday ....
Enjoyed catching up or meeting many of you for the first time
Proved the car can go in a straight line - now just have to fix the engine and trans, improve how it stops and goes around corners, and get a good driver......

Just got home from the Nationals. Most of the QLDers should be home by now.
What a huge 7 day advanture. Torturous rain and so many km's to get there and back.
Great weekend, fantastic racing, great weather, no incidents or (major)accidents and got to catch up with so many of my fellow club members and made some great new mates.
For the people that didn't go, you really missed out on something great. For the people that did go, you know exactly what I am talking about.
Huge congrats to NSW club, they run a fantastic event. Will post some pics when I finally sort through them.

What a weekend.
I have only just got home and unpacked the car, checked the shed and the cobra fairy hasn't been and finished my car while I was away
Congrats Karen on your win. Your spin at the top of the track would have had me walking back to the pits.
It was great to catch up with everyone and meet new friends with the same interest.
Thankyou to Richard for your generosity in loaning your car to take the boys and Josie for a spin and making our first trip to the Nationals a memorable one. We all had a great time and I now hope to have my car going, but unregistered for the Shelby Fest next year.
Gav.

Photos
I agree with everyone about the weekend. It was outstanding but especially valuable for current builders - a real incentive to get finished.
I took some photos on the weekend. I am happy to email any that I took of your car (if I did take some of you). Just let me know your car rego numbers and/or the names on your windscreens and any other identifying info and, of course, your email addresses.

Video/DVD ????
Does anyone who attended the nationals have video or DVD footage.
I need the inspiration of watching everyone else enjoy their finished product.
I would be very interested in buying a copy.
Congratulations to all who attended, sounds like you all had a blast.
