Default Just went east

This is really what it is all about

...

Well what's a guy to do?.

Everyone's praising the Nationals at Wakefield Park Raceway last weekend and 'posting' some great pictures..

I'm a little envious.

Todd calls into home here and says,.. 'lets go for a run in the Cobra Dad'.

So 430k - about 270miles - later we arrive home. Luckily it was quite at work with most the major tradesmen finishing up - it's school holidays here in South Australia so you can imagine the chaos with renovations and kids.

The road trip and lunch..and dinner

We headed off east to Portland, Victoria and then took a reasonably quick run down to Port Fairy, where I caught up with my daughter Bree.

After lunch sitting in the sunshine we took a scenic country route back through Merino to Casterton over the hills. It's a very nice section of road with some real sweeping turns and slight hills.

Todd behind the wheel reminded me that the Cobra is a real drivers car. Some understeer..

Mmmm it's amazing how fast you can get a car to go when it's not yours.... I had to tell him to keep an eye out for the Police a few times..

My way of discreetly saying..'hell slow down, your frightening me..

After a brief stop at Casterton to check on the progress of Todds' BMW 2002 that is having a full rebuild, it was off to Mt. Gambier, South Australia and home.

Todds' request to go out for dinner rounded off a really good day of driving in 24c sunny conditions - 78f.

430k's, lunch and a drive with your son is as good as it gets.

Now to clean the car and do it all again - maybe tomorrow..

Default Does it get any better?

I was reading your post Bernie thinking how fantastic your day was. I'm still a wanabe and look foreward to cruising with my Billy lids when the time comes.

Maybe next year I'll be at the Nationals with my own beast........went this year and even tho no Cobra still enjoyed seeing the cars on the track.

Bernie,

Your trip epitomises what driving a cobra is all about. I am really looking forward to the day my Son and I can do the sort of trip you and Todd did.

Only another two years of Green P plates and my son will be "allowed" to drive the Cobra.

Phil

Wanabe

Will not be long and you can just take off with a kid or on your own. Guess you will put plenty of k's - miles - on it once you are finished...

Phil,

I don't know must be an ageing thing, but I find that it's fun to just take off with the kids. Now to get them to pay for lunch and dinner and I'll be....
