Leave it to the Aussies to come up with the worlds fastest production car! Well done 'mates'. I figure that speed to be around 170 mph, for a STOCK freakin' pickup, er, UTE no less. Whew, rock on.

Seeing the Fords seem to be taking over the thread I thought I better help the cause out as well! Here's our purple beast. When you do the exhaust system, some head work and put some psi through her she really starts to move.
I offered to take boxhead for a drive when he visited me but he declined. Oh well maybe next time. It needs a bigger blower anyway

Nice Ute Blair. Where did you get the blower from?

Bugger all these Ford utes.
Thought I would post a pic of (fellow club member) Ashley's Holden SS ute. Taken down at Goulburn, loaded to the hilt, not that you would know.
I drove it down to Nationals this year laden with 12 race wheels, tools, luggage and anything we could squeeze in every available nook. Lucky it had air bags in the rear, 40 psi to stop the rear dragging on the ground.
Ashley drove it down to Nationals last year and entered it for racing. Just running crappy cheap street tyres, he managed a best time of 1:15. Now that's not so shabby, considering most Cobra's on street tyres couldn't even manage that this year.
Luckily for Ashley, he managed a time of 1:12 this year in his Cobra. He wouldn't live it down if his Cobra was slower.

Thanks Nassty, the blower is just a CAPA kit from Melbourne. It really made a huge difference. The engine has done over 130 000 kms with the blower and it has been worked hard if you know what I mean!
In the next month I am probably going to drive the ute down to Brisbane to get an engine rebuild. It is starting to burn some oil so it's either sell it or rebuild the engine. Seeing the bottom end is stock I am suprised it has lasted this long, so some H-beam rods and low compression pistons will be in order and it might even get stroked to. One thing I do know is a bigger blower has already been ordered.
I am suprised for the amount of HP a CAPA kit gives and the price reduction over the last 2 years that more people don't put a centrifugal in their cars. Especially quad cam engines. Actually the TE50 would love one!

I'm also surprised more people don't, especially in Cobra's and especially in QLD as they are relatively easy to approve.

Yeps, 400TT has it right! Just go in and get your blue plate.
Actually I got pulled up once by the men in blue for no reason and they were going through all their procedures (checking if I had stolen it) and one of them said 'you must have a broken pipe son, I can hear a high pitch whistle'. When I told him that was just the supercharger he tried to tell me it was illegal!
I just showed him the little blue plate
