Dash warning lights
Theres been a few threads in the about dash waring lights these in the past, and since then Im sure there would be a bunch of newer builders interested in a set - Does anyone have the details on where these can be obtained. I seem to remember someone running off a bunch a while back.
Cheers

i rang the guy at electronic solutions and they can make all of those (john),
0754534355, they are quite small but have the images on each one and colours you want , may be worth a call.

Tenrocca,
Doug Pearce keeps them in stock.
Cost about $110.00 for a set for memory, I am sure he would send them to you.

With the LS1 you won't be able to get a check engine light out of the ECU as it's a signal processed by the BCM. You could use the oil warning light but would have to plumb in an oil pressure switch.
I'm running the same lights and have all the others apart from oil and engine. I've found a neat little circuit to do the seat belt warning light. The whole thing fits inside the bezzel.
I've also converted all the lights including the instrument lights to LED. I hate changing dash bulbs as it's a pain to get into the back of the dash. The LED's will probably outlast the car.
Cheers

Hey Tenrocca, maybe what you were really thinking and just had trouble wording is 'can I buy 10 engine check lights within a set of idiot lights, because my engine check light will be constantly on and probably melt'.

He wont need any check engine lights. Tenrocca is running Dark Side power, he'll only need this warning light.
Cheers

Andrew,
Simon clemens over here in Perth sells dash warning lights. I bought a set from him a few months ago. He is a member of the forum so you should be able to contact him.

I too got mine through Simon, they look great and I expect them to look even better once shining lights back at me though this is some time off yet.
If I recall about $110 -120 for the set including postage.

There are proper ADR approved seat belt lights with built-in timer available. They are same or very similiar small round light as most people use in Cobra's but of course are led based.
I know Snake Bite sell ADR approved ones with doco and all, so they are around.
Strictly speaking the seat belt light should be ADR approved, but in my experience no one checks the approval on them, as long as they have seat belt icon on the face and stay lit for required 10 secs, you should be fine.

We are currently having these produced, if you want a set of the 8 let me know. They will be around $80- set.
Andrew - you need the 8 units, including the engine check lgt.
Mike - You do not need the body module, the engine check light wire comes from the ECU & goes to the Diag plug. It is the yellow wire.

Ian

I'm a bit dubious about how that wire would turn on a check engine light. The yellow wire is serial data from the ECU to the BCM it also connects to the OBD2 port. It's a digital data line used to transport messages back and forth between the BCM and ECU. From this data the BCM runs oil pressure and water temp guages, trip computer and a bunch of other stuff. The OBD2 port uses it for flashing the ECU or pulling trouble codes out of it. How will it light an engine check light if it's a data line? It would need to put out a hard 12 Volts on a trouble code.
Have you tested this, how reliably does it work? It should be reasonably easy to generate a condition that would bring up a check engine trouble code. Disconnecting one of the O2 sensors or the TPS or something like that would be enough to prove it.
I've wired the yellow lead to an OBDII port that'll be tucked under the dash. It'll make reflashing the ECU easier because I won't have to unplug it. There are also a variety of OBDII scanners and guages that will tell you the trouble codes coming out of the ECU and a heap of other useful information.

Hi Warren,
I got the 10 second timer circuit from the guys at Electronic solutions mentioned earlier in this thread. They make a bezel complete with the circuit inside it but I wanted to use my bezels with the groovy logos on them. I asked if they would just supply the circuit board and they were happy to. I then grafted the pcb inside my seatbelt lamp bezel. It works a treat.
Cheers
