Whilst our National were on
Hi all,
Whilst our Nationals were on another event was also taking place on the other side of the world...
The 'Run N Gun' in St. Louis is an event that I managed to get to a year or so back and I just saw that 'hey'littlecobra' has "Posted' a "Thread' on ALL COBRA TALK titled - Pictures from the Run N Gun.
(Just tried to link to the story.... )
If you get a moment check Kristens' photos and story out.
I was lucky enough to meet Kristen personally after driving Route 66 in Hershals GT40 last year. We met at the London show in Ohio and had a great time talking Cobras.
The Run N Gun would certainly be a must attend event if you guys are ever in the midstates in October.
Guess it means missing the Australian Nationals though....
And say Hi to Kristen when you check the Thread out...
Cheers
Bernie

Thanks mate for placing the links. That will make things a lot easier.
I get a bit lost in some of the technical things.
I just yell out...'Toddddd'... and he says, "Yes Dad, I'll fix it for you".. .
With kids that program videos and work out timers etc. who really needs to learn..

dbn04,
I've been lucky enough to recently drive Route 66 with Hershal in his GT40 and it was a great trip to the London Cobra Show in London, Ohio. Check out their 'Thread' to see street drag racing etc. It took us three or four days both ways as we stopped at most of the key locations - Route 66 Museum etc...
Recently, I went to Santa Barbara and Palm Springs for events and the location for both cars and weather is nearly as good as you guys there in Queensland. Santa Barabara just turned on 500 plus cars in the main street down to the beach front - fantastic event that is on the same weekend at Knotts in April.
As I've said, I've been to the Run N Gun and also the SAAC weekend event in Fontana Speedway Cal. Both great events to get to see.
I had the opportunity to meet many of the Cobra and GT40's owners of the 'Forum' here and to meet CS himself. This was a real highlight.
There is something on all the time there in the US, and I found small car and bike shows at Crystal Cove in Cal. and the Huntington Beach Cal. car parks are always good on a Saturday morning.
Not to mention the Pavillions in Arizona. A hell of a good show every Friday night. Again with hundreds of cars, trucks and bikes.
Guess it is to be expected with the population base etc...
Bernie

hey, Bernie! thanks for posting the info for my great trip to run n gun! thanks Dave for fixing the link....
Not sure what is better- Tulsa mid-America in June, or Run n Gun in October. Or, Austin in March, or London in June or..... you get the idea. There are ALWAYS things to go to.... One of these days I'm going to make the WSCB in May. I am 'fine tuning' my travels, and am looking specifically at events where I can track my car. I have the trailer in the shop right now, addressing a couple of issues that will make me more self sufficient on my road trips. At some point I will do London again, (once I get my boys finished with Scouts, and camping, etc) especially since they've added the track days. Who knew 3 years ago when I saw my first cobra I'd end up with a big ol truck, big ol trailer and a big ol grin across my face.....
the quote at the bottom is directly from my husband --- yup, 'if that car could float you'd be going to Australia!!!' Long way for a car show and a little track time!!!
thanks again for highlighting my trip. It was awesome!!!
