Lucas wiper gears
Anyone able to provide contacts for sourcing the lucas gear drives to change the degree sweep I have from my wiper at present?
I have a 115 degree sweep and think I need around 100 - 105 degrees. I don't know exactly which sweep is best for my purposes but would look at buying a few gears at once to try.
Can anyone suggest contacts, preferably here in Victoria but other sources would be useful I guess.
Cheers

Gday Stephen,
I think there is a way to alter the stroke on your existing gear - check out this link from the most imformative ERA web site:

Thanks Andrew
Had seen this one some time ago and am trying to do it with a little less fiddle at this time.
I may still have to do something similar but will make it adjustable as Tony Cram did to get it completely right. Will see anyway.
Cheers

G'day Steve
I got my wiper stuff from Northern Mini. Unfortunately they advised me that I was "stuck" with the arm that I had - 120 degrees. I could've used thw wipers to indicate to turn right
In the end I did the mod and changed the position of the arm on the crank. A little fiddly but it now works just as I wanted it too.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Stephen, I have a 105 degree geared wheel (pic in my gallery) I am not fitting wipers at all so if you want I can bring it to Melbourne next month and you can try it out, if it works you can buy my complete wiper setup (second hand from mini) for the $65 I paid for it

Hi Sephen,
Stafford vehicle components in UK sell all parts for lucas wiper systems. I ordered parts from them and they provided very good service. Parts arrived at my door in five days.

Boxhead
as I have been out of work money is tight at present so I am not inclined to buy the whole wiper though thanks for the offer. Did look in your gallery and didn't see the unit anyway!?
Cheers

Not a problem Stephen, If you want to use it to see if it gives you the sweep your after then I still dont mind bringing it on holidays with me (just the gear) and you can test if it has the sweep you need.
Atleast then your search is narrowed down.
