That's awesome. Now for the million dollar question... can we make it fit my (as yet unordered) Harrison body?

well sambo, the Harrison is not terribly unlike the RMC which is the same as a dax ( I think).

But at 1700 UK pounds that's great value.

I like the way the back hatch does not interfere with the boot ( trunk to our US mates).

And pretty smart side window too.

Wish it was available here cuz there would be one on my car real quick.

I might run some picks around to Brian at homebush (hes just around the corner) and see what he can do! Im sure it wouldnt be to everyones liking, but I reckon its the nicest hardtop Ive seen - Looks part of the car rather then just an add on.

Exactly Tenrocca. but removable when you want rid of it.

It's the best I've seen. That rear glass would be the hardest bit.

It's also got a demist heater element...way kewl.

Tenrocca

If Brian could do it I would be interested. It looks quite good.

The devil will be in the detail here - getting it to seal well, mounting points, window/hatch hinges, toughened glass, locks, etc.

At roughly $5000 to import (2.4x conversion + freight/duties) you'd want to be able to make up your own 'spares'.

Samba, I think all that would be sorted looking at the apparent quality of the thing.

At $5000.00 is a reasonable price.

At this stage I've spent over $2000.00 on a conventional hard top and have yet to make side and back windows to my satisfaction.

That $2000.00 does not include a $hitload of "make it fit" and " make it look better" type labour.

My current hard top now is a window less version of the SPF ( see Cameron Parsons gallery) so I am very happy with it but if I had to pay commercial rates to get it looking like it does I'd expect maybe $3000.00.

Sorry I should've been more obvious... I meant buying one from the UK and reverse engineering the thing to assist with making copies.

But yeah, if you're already spending 3k on a hard top that you're still not happy with, might be worth starting over with one of these.

Very nice idea, and extra storage for soft stuff under the rear window. A small window where the indentation is would get rid of that huge blind spot.

Dave Brooks is a (very) active member of the UK Cobra Club (almost 5,000 posts @ 5 per day). Currently on his 109th DAX build, but one of the most helpful people around (anywhere).

http://www.cobraclub.com/forum/member.php?u=12

You should be able to search there for some threads on the hardtop, or start one and chat about how he fits it to something different to the DAX.

The RMC is very close to the original DAX, but a Harrison appears slightly more rounded across the boot (but looks can be deceiving).

But if Dave has fitted them to other brands in the UK, then he would be able to say how they can be adjusted.

I agree that is one of the best hard tops I have seen, it would certainly allow you to get a lot more use from the cars. However aircon would then be a must as the cabin temp would be rather high.

Dunno .... aircon would be nice but in good weather you can take it off and you're back to roadster trim.

I wonder if our UK cousins have found cars with this top a little more slippery in competition events. That would be interesting cuz the cobra has the aerodynamics of a house brick.

Many of our ladies complain of the buffeting to the rear of the head in the roadster a bit annoying. My first wife looks a little like an escapee from the Australian Zoo if she's not wearing headgear.

A coat of something like lizard skin to the inside may help the heat problem. The top appears to have liners of some type that may hide the lizard skin.

Whichever.....If you are inclined to want a hard top and have a shape close to a Dax then this sure is the best I've seen.

I have always thought the cobra to look weird with any form of top. This top seems to compliment the cobra shape and as mentioned doesn't have that added-on appearance.
