Hi Les,
I was looking at an LS7 down at Eagle Auto spares a while back. I believe all you would need to provide for the dry sump system is the tank. It looks like all the pumps and stuff are in the sump and it's just an in and out connection to the tank. YOu could probably just use a Peterson tank or a fabricated one.
The electronics would probably just be regular LS2 equipment but with an LS7 tune in it.
Hi Darrell, The shorty pipes should be back from the ceramic coaters in a couple of weeks. I'll bolt them on over Easter.
Those XR6 Turbos can make some big numbers with only minor mods. A bigger exhaust, bigger intercooler, more boost etc. I've seen a few making 300+ KW at the treads that still look reasonably stock when you open the hood.
Cheers

So is the XR6 Turbo motor Euro 4?
It may not be an eight but I am sure you could pick one up in Australia for next to nothing!
How long is the XR6 Turbo engine compared to say a LS1, 302 or a 427?
All questions I would be asking if I was building a Cobra from scratch!

Finding the cammer a bit much to handle Blair?.
Actually the question is not a silly one. The turbo 6 goes like a cut snake.
There is a fellow in the Queensland club who put in the Holden V6 and he was more than happy.
In fact his was the cheapest build we had seen at that time. If I remember correctly about a total of $16000.00 all up.
He bought a Holden V6 wreck for bugga all and used as much as he could.

I haven't even go the cammer in (mine is actually going to be a basardised cammer, ie. I stoked it not Ford & a different intake) at the moment. I reckon it goes alright as is, however next wet season I reckon I know one little Cobra that my end up with as much power as a LS7 powered Cobra.
Anway there is no reason a XR6 Turbo engine stock standard with a few minor mods wouldn't be an absolute handfull!
Starts getting to the point where I turn into Ozvenom and 4wd the thing as well. That's going to be a weapon.

That reminds me Blair ....you have yet to post your impressions of your new cob with the 4.6.
I don't mean from a motor perspective which will just fuel more chev/ford debates, but from a 1st time owner perspective.
C'mon, fess up, wot's your impressions?

Alright you asked: Seeing the first time I ever sat in a Cobra was the same day I drove mine I had a few impressions.
a) With the hard top on it is very hard to get in and out of.
b) If I had 'live' sidepipes I would have been in hospital about 10 times on the first day.
c) On my 1st fuel stop I had 3 people come up and say 'nice car'.
d) I am amazed just how 'light' it is to drive. No power turning thingy for me.
e) I am suprised how quickly 7500rpm comes when the tyres are spinning.
f) You can not jump in a Cobra and just 'drive' it. It wants to be used as a race car.
g) Next set of tyres I will definately go for some Road Legal sticky tyres.
h) Even old ladies look at the cobra. Or maybe they were looking for the car that was making all the noise. Or they thought Rebel1 was back in town.

Oi, I don't pick up any blue rinse types off the street. Certainly not when I can do that in air conditioned comfort of the local social security office.
I told ya before young fella, there's gold in them there blue rinse types.
They think the next one they're gonna get is maybe their last so they put their hearts n souls into it.
